A truly memorable holiday.
Kenya between 22 Jul 2022 and 7 Aug 2022
Our teenagers declared it the best holiday we've had and did not complain once about all the early mornings.
The camps, wildlife, people and hotels exceeded our expectations.
Having had to wait for 2 years for this trip it more than lived up to expectations and we feel incredibly lucky to have been.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
Nothing - just to say a hug thank you for making this such a superb holiday.
Having everything in place made it so much easier and the choice of camps and Asha hotel suited us perfectly. Thank you."

Four Points Nairobi Airport
"Was just what we needed after the overnight flight"

Selenkay Adventure Camp
"We had a truly fabulous time at Selankey. "
We didn't really know what to expect from the conservancy especially as it was a long drive from Amboseli National Park but we needn't have worried. Our driver Daniel and his assistant Joshua were experts at tracking, knowledgable and friendly. We saw lions and elephants every day as well as dozens of antelopes, warthogs, zebra, buffalo ..., the list goes on.
The first morning in Amboseli after we got off the flight was so exciting - especially for our teenagers for whom this was their first safari. After that we stayed in the conservancy but did something different each day. Being in the conservancy meant that we rarely saw other vehicles and were able to go off track in order to search for animals. Daniel was an excellent driver and managed to take us to all sorts of places.
The camp was very comfortable and it was beautiful waking up in the morning to see zebra wandering past. The camp staff were very friendly with many of them speaking good English. The food was superb whether it was a picnic breakfast out in the bush or dinner in the camp in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk with the camp staff and the visit to the Masaii village - a real eye opener.
A fabulous start to the holiday."

Ol Kinyei Adventure Camp (Not currently featured by Expert Africa)
"Such a fabulous stay."
We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Porini Bush Camp which meant was extremely comfortable. Again the staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the food superb. Our driver Ben and his assistant were again excellent.
We jokingly said that what we wanted to see was a pride of lions with cubs, a kill, wildebeast river crossing, cheetahs and leopard; we saw them all. Again the range of wildlife was huge and the landscape beautiful. We went somewhere different every day and Ben changed the plans to fit in with what we wanted. Sundowners watching the sunset were memorable.
Such a fabulous stay."

Balloon flight over the Mara
"Balloon flight over the Mara review"
28 Jul 2022 • Morning excursion
The wildebeest and zebra were on the move and we flew across thousands of them. Our pilot took us right down so we just skirted along the top of the grass and could see the animals at eye level - amazing. A lovely breakfast in the bush to complete it.
The only downside was the 4am get up as we were staying a long way from the launch area but it was worth it.

Asha Boutique Hotel
"Beautiful. The location on the beach was stunning"
We did an excellent day trip to go snorkelling at the reef at Wasini Island - we saw dozens of fish, swam with dolphins and had an excellent lunch. We also found somewhere to surf (near the river by the mosque) as well as snorkelling from the hotel boat just off the reef next to the hotel.
Diani beach is beautiful. We'd recommend buying something from the beach hawkers early on in your stay and then they stop asking you.
Was hard to leave!"

Karen Gables
"A beautiful building and garden"
Would recommend a jumper/jacket - Nairobi was a lot colder than any of the other places we stayed."
Staff were friendly and food was good (although incredibly slow service in the pool restaurant.) Being a corporate hotel it didn't have masses of character but it was nicely designed and decorated.
We had a day to fill before heading off on safari and took a ride out to the Giraffe Centre which was a lot of fun feeding the giraffes. We stopped in the centre of Nairobi and had a look around the government area too."
