My Jan 2020 safari
Kenya between 19 Jan 2020 and 27 Jan 2020
"It was wonderful, but very hard to describe. A friend said that if asked, on their return, what the holiday was like they'd just say 'Great' if the person asking the question had never been on safari, and only enthuse in detail if they had, because only they would really understand. I understand that now. I had great hopes for this trip, but being my first safari I did not really know what to expect, and, despite Expert Africa's best attempts at describing the experience on their website, words cannot really do it justice. The impact is emotional and spiritual as well as literal. Yes, there are that many animals and birds and these are real wild creatures in their natural habitat, but it is so much more than that. I will never forget this trip. It was one of the great experiences of my life."

Feedback response
We rather agree that settling down to dinner at 11pm was too much. We booked these travellers on Bed & Breakfast, so the unexpected dinner was most likely a lucky (or unwelcome!) misunderstanding by staff. Being a busy airport hotel, the Four Points tends to have snacks and full meals available 24/7 (at extra cost), and Expert Africa can't guarantee that all our overnight travellers will be offered a full dinner free of charge.
Kicheche Laikipia
"Stunning introduction to a safari"

"This was our first safari and whilst our expectations were high they were exceeded in every respect. The camp, and the welcome we received were wonderful. Andrew our host, with whom we had some great conversations; our guide Josphat was incredible, so knowledgeable about every last small bird and great mammal, so easy to talk to, funny as well as easy to get along with. No doubt our response to the wild life within the conservancy would have been the same whatever our camp and guide was like, but they made the experience so much more enjoyable. And our respnse was Wonder, It wasn't simply the extraordinary variety and number of animals and birds: it was the coexistence of them. Plains full of almost every conceivable African animal and bird mixing and getting on with there lives regardless of the other beasts nearby: buffalo, elephant, impala, zebra, warthog, hyena, jackal, baboons, various gazelle, any and all of them may be seen at the same time or within minutes. We couldn't believe the wonder of it all."

Kicheche Mara
"A perfect partnership with Laikipia"

"This was the second camp we stayed at. Three days at Laikipia and 4 days here. We were concerned that it would simply be more of the same. However, although there was, inevitably, substantial overlap in the animals and birds seen, everything was fresh and different. There were animals we hadn't seen at Laikipia (Topi, Wildebeest, Leopard and more), but even the ones we had seen we saw in a new light. The country was different, the behaviour was different and we came to appreciate that EVERY sighting of an animal seen before brought new insight. The Mara is very different to Laikipia and just amazing in its variety. A drive of a few minutes will transform the landscape from vast flat plains to rolling scub-covered hills, to hidden magical valleys with rock strewn rivers. One plain will be completely empty of mammals, the next teeming.
Our guide, Soit, was as informed and incredibly knowledgeable as Josphat had been at Laikipia. He was Masai and we had fascinating conversations with him about the Masai way of life and culture. A lovely man."

However, generous though the offer was, we felt that the dinner offered to us on arrival at 23:00hrs, and, apparently, part of the Expert Africa deal, was unnecessary. The hour was late, British Airways had fed us (sort of) and we needed to be up early the next morning, so the idea of settling down to a dinner was not appealing."
