"We had an excellent time at Luangwa River Camp.

The camp had a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, which was down to the excellent work of Joe, the Host. The rooms were fine, but could probably do with being updated, as they were beginning to look a bit tired. The position of the camp was excellent, with easy access into the park.

Our guide Jonah was superb! We are keen bird watchers and his excellent knowledge, enabled us to see many different species. It was lovely to have the vehicle to ourselves and we felt that Jonah understood the kind of safari experience we wanted.

We had excellent sightings of leopard, lion, hippo, plus numerous species of antelope."

"We loved the camp and the amenities at Tena Tena.

Our guide Bertie was very good and so was his spotter Ken. We enjoyed the walking safaris, which enabled us to see the smaller species of animals and to get closer to some of the wildlife.

Nicholas, the host, dealt sensitively with an issue of another guest wanting to play music in the bar/restaurant area. However it may have helped if this had been specifically mentioned in the policies of the camp.

Again we had excellent sightings of animals, including a porcupine (twice) and a chameleon"

"This lodge was quite different from the camps, but the setting was superb and the rooms and the lodge were lovely, especially the swimming pool.

Our first game drive was disappointing, as we seemed to race around and chase animals, which we don't like doing. However on our return, with the guide that we had at Three Rivers Camp, things were much better.

The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay there."

"This was the camp that I enjoyed the best. The camp is very open and so wildlife, especially elephants wander through all the time. We were in the tent the furthest from the main buildings and often had to be picked up and dropped off by vehicle because of the elephants.

However the best part was the star beds, this was just magical and so well thought out and designed. Jabes our guide was outstanding, with an excellent knowledge of birds and animals. It was great that he took us back to Kafunta lodge and then remained as our guide there. It would have been good if TJ had asked about the interests of different groups, so that birding people were not put with those that had no interest in them.

The matter was resolved by a quiet word with him, but one guest was rude to us at dinner, which could have been avoided"
