"Lagoon Lodge very charming in its own way, but a huge culture shock after several days in the desert and at desert lodges -this is no reflection on the lodge but more the unexpected contrast in all ways with what had come before. There was a moment when the water was cut off (again no reflection on lodge itself and the friendly extremely French, welcome)

"Totally unexpectedly wonderful and enjoyed being sung through every step. Wish I had had two nights. Desert elephant excursion excellent and totally successful. Almost my favourite landscape of the trip too..."

"Found Palmwag fractionally less satisfying than some of the other lodges despite ravishing scenery. Game drives lengthy and relentlessly bumpy due to the bouldery terrain, and somehow the camp out seemed unnecessary despite the great guide i.e. many hours of driving for a similar view with slightly less wildlife than the lodge itself. Possible just had spent too long in the vehicle to spend so much more time in the vehicle there...."

"Incredible location and great wildlife viewing everywhere. Badly let down by the state of the room, which would have been magical but almost every zip (forming blinds) was broken which meant that the freezing wind went straight through the tented room all night and there was only one blanket for the two twin beds. Leaking taps etc too. Great design, and spectacular position just needs an overhaul -though obviously can only speak for that room."

"Found Okaukuejo pretty much as expected - large central hub for Etosha. Extraordinarily busy waterhole, but strange to share it with so many people resulting in safari park feel...... Surprisingly comfortable chalets and adequate room (on return) but a little confusing to find your way around. They ran out of Diesel for a day which could have been fairly serious if you were needing to get to the airport! Desperately slow and inefficient shop resulting in huge queues which were unnecessary and frustrating when wanting to use every minute for wildlife."

"Really nice chalets, great food, more relaxed and personal and authentic feel in comparison to Okaukwejo (for me anyway)"

"I got badly lost in the dark trying to find it as the directions were from Windhoek ( I realised afterwards ) not the North (Etosha) and were possibly confused by the new stretch of road/ dual carriageway. slightly impractical long gravel paths for those with big wheelie suitcases. Unbelievably good dinner ;0)"
