OurSep 2023 trip
Kenya between 15 Sep 2023 and 28 Sep 2023
"Fabulous trip. Learnt a lot even though we have been on many safaris.
Great range of experiences between the 2 camps - loved both of them - and wonderful relaxation at the beach.
I should like to discuss the Wildlife Survey form and the animal sightings you put on your website. I thought looking at your website that these were the animals with some chance% of what we might see. But of course there are lots and lots of others. Also find the more detail bit on this questionairre a bit confusing."

"Fabulous setting. Excellent animal sitings - and a different range from most places. Lovely guides and staff. Good food and choice.
Elephants, monkeys and dwarf mongoose in camp and lions across the rver. Crocodile took impala on the bank just after we arrived."

"Very luxurious camp. More colonial feel than Elephant Bedroom, Samburu but also very nice staff. Really exceptional guide. Good choice of good food.
So many lions, and vultures, and hyena. Different varieties of giraffe, ostrich, zebra etc and many different species. made a very good pair of camps to visit. Sun downers every day. Though we abandoned one to stay with a lion hunt.
Very wet when we arrived and paths just mud but the early rains meant the landscape was totally different from Samburu.
Restricted number of jeeps per lodge in conservancy meant that sometimes there were up to 5 people in each vehicle, but we had several drives to ourselves too.
The company actively discourage visits to the Mara for the Crossing etc. Mara Reserve is so crowded with tourists now they think it is unethical for the animals. Will soon ban completely?"

"Lovely spot. Not as quite I expected. I think the website needs some different photos. At fist sight the cottages looked a bit overlooked but actually they are cleverly placed. Much of the time we were there it was only at half occupancy so mostly you had evrywhere to yourself. Rooms a bit dark because you have to keep the shutters closed to keep the Sykes monkeys out - and hide your medication etc.
The main lounge and villa building have wonderful artefacts. Every meal your table is somewhere different - by the sea, pool, terrace. Could have done with a choice of meal. Just what is offered though I think they would have produced something else if you'd said - but that's at the serving time. But very good food - lots of fresh fish and vegetables.
Colobus and Sykes monkeys by day and Bush Babies by night. And lots of bird life.
Enormous main pool and warm sea. You need to bring shoes to walk on the coral if you want to swim.
Very nice attentive staff."

"Very pleasant new luxurious camp. Fabulous view across plains and good food. Very nice informative people. Very long game drives - good for us. Lots of different types of very beautiful scenery.
Had the place almost entirely to ourselves - end of season.
First time we've been on safari when its green. Less likely to see big cats and game more spread out and further away but still saw masses of animals and the birds in mating plumage are amazing and everwhere is green, lots of flowers and butterflies - an entirely different take on the African bush.
Tsetse quite bad."

Our room at the hotel had a connecting door to the next room - so all the light shone through round the edge and all the noise of their converstaions on the phone and TV etc bellowed through - until at least 3am.
Breakfast was fine."
