"Superb tents, slightly shabby chic in feel but worked perfectly with the surroundings and overall style of the camp. Very helpful service and fantastic guide (sorry can't remember his name) - extremely knowledgeable with wonderful ability to anticipate animals' movements and spot things from incredibly long distances. Great open vehicles for game viewing. Very flexible with the timing of game drives.
Other comments: Quite a long drive to the Mara river (about an hour), camp wasn't informed of our dietary requirements so the dinner on the first night had to be changed (we should have been asked in advance). Food was good without being outstanding. On other safaris I have been on we stopped more often for a snack/drink/leg stretcher - on an 8 hour drive we only stopped once.
Overall it was excellent."

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
"Unique lodge on the crater rim"

"Unusual design for a game lodge - the interior is a combination of several African and European styles - it sort of works, but I suspect is not for everyone. Delightful service from the team, especially the management who dealt with a possible change in itinerary very efficiently. Superb guide (Kitoi) - charming and knowledgeable, very warm with the children. Charming and helpful butler.
Great game viewing, although a little frustrating (but understandable) that the roads are limited so it's not always possible to get close to all the animals. I would suggest that unless you are a really avid game watcher, 2/3 game drives is enough in the Crater as the area is much smaller than the wide expanse of a game park.
Extremely bumpy 1hr ride down to the lodge and very dusty - not an issue for us but other travellers may need to know this!
Cold at night and we did not think that the rooms were warm enough in the evening. They are large spaces and a fire in one corner is not quite sufficient. This might be an issue for more sensitive travellers going at this time of year."
