Mdonya Old River Camp: video gallery

Mdonya Old River Camp: picture gallery

The tents at Mdonya Old River Camp are set wide apart under shady acacias.
Each of them has a double roof and a shady verandah.
Inside each are comfortable double or twin beds, with racks for your clothes.
The tents have netted windows, blinds which can be let down and zipped doors.
All the tents at Mdonya are furnished simply, in traditional safari style.
Each has an en suite bathroom – the hand-basin is simple but carefully designed…
…and the shower has hot and cold water, and is open to the sky.
There is a main tent with comfortable seating areas to relax after a long day.
Meals are often eaten together with your guides...
...and you also may have company.
Enjoy the campfire with a pre-dinner drink...
...and dinner under the stars, with a roaring campfire nearby.
All around, Ruaha National Park is a superb wilderness in the remote heart of Tanzania.
There is some excellent game viewing in Ruaha...
…and you can get really close to the big game in open-topped 4WD vehicles.
Sometimes you will stop to watch animals…
...and occasionally you will be watched as well.
The Ruaha wildlife includes Zebras crossing the fields...
…and prides of lion are relatively common.
Mdonya Old River camp stands beside the bed of a sand river, which is a real corridor for game.
