"Addo Main Camp review"

1 night Arrived 4 Apr 2022
"The large family chalet we stayed in was magnificent, comfortable and with all possible facilities. One room had a wonderful view towards the waterhole and we were able to spot game and birds from there.

The restaurant was very good and close at hand. The camp was very clean and well organized with a well stocked shop. The covid measures were reassuring and adhered to. There wasn't any game at the waterhole when we went. we could have stayed longer there. we saw lots of game in our self drives through the park with well marked, interesting routes. we'd certainly go there again." "Elephant heaven"

3 nights Arrived 28 Oct 2015
"Chalets with adequate self-catering facilities, although one (of five) required further cleaning on our arrival. This was remedied by the reception staff on duty. Good density and variety of game spotted from self-drive vehicles. Where else can one see so many elephants so close to the car!

The restaurant was the same franchise as Storms River, and a reservation made through our Cape Town agents did not materialise. In contrast to Storms River, the management and staff quickly dealt with the situation." See all these reviews: 13n in South Africa

"Addo Main Camp - very good value for money"

2 nights Arrived 28 Jan 2014
"We accepted a 'forest cabin' as the only available accommodation as we booked late and we knew there might be limitations but it was very good value. Would have been a bit 'cosy' if all four beds were occupied and the weather had not permitted outdoor living. Lacked any view except surrounding bushes. We have previously occupied more spacious accommodation at Addo but it was more expensive!

Night drive proved disappointing but this was chance on the day." See all these reviews: 13n in South Africa

"Great place to view the elephants"

1 night Arrived 22 Nov 2009
"Nice semi bungalow all fully equipped and clean. Amazing views of elephants from the patio - could have stayed here longer!

Good restaurant and shop mainly for day trippers. Nice bird hide and waterhole lit at night. Underground waterhole badly designed - the viewing hide was too low - a comment made by many people." See all these reviews: 11n in South Africa
