"Beautiful Room & Pool"
6 nights Arrived 20 Sep 2015
"La Reserve was saved by the amazing hotel room we had and the beautiful pool. The room was spacious, comfortable with A/C, huge shower, flushing toilet and incredible view of the ocean. We were steps away from the beach which was a HUGE bonus for us. The bed was very comfortable, we didn't have any bug issues in the room and we loved the bathroom amenities.
We enjoyed the daily breakfast which was included in our rate. It was a buffet with made-to-order egg station. We hulked out here daily, we love breakfast! Other than that we thought the hotel lacked good food options. They only offered buffet for dinner which we did the first night. It was overpriced and pretty awful in our opinion. The service was bad, if you would even call it service. None of the staff smiled or helped with anything. Coming from the other areas and enjoying the best service, this was very offputting for us. We chose to dine out elsewhere every night after our first dinner at La Reserve. It was the best decision we made.
The gym was a joke. It smelled stale and old in there and the equipment had to have been from the 1950's. It was unusable. The hotel did provide snorkels for use which was a great bonus. We enjoyed snorkeling off the other islands and right off our beach near our hotel room. We borrowed bikes the first day which was also a joke. These bikes were in the same condition as the gym equipment. It was incredibly hard to pedal these bikes and we had a less than enjoyable bike ride around the island. Never made that mistake again.
I think La Reserve has potential but the staff was just incredibly rude and unhelpful. We felt every time we needed something or ordered food/drinks we were inconveniencing them! It was pretty uncomfortable and we enjoyed leaving the hotel to dine else places or enjoy other activities.
They provided music as entertainment every evening which was nice but just not that enjoyable. I just don't think this was the place for us. We are social people and enjoy being active, we just couldn't find ways to entertain ourselves at this hotel. It was boring." See all these reviews: 8n in Tanzania; 6n in Seychelles; 2n in Kenya

"The perfect relaxing holiday"
7 nights Arrived 16 Apr 2012
"After a very long trip we were greeted with a smile and a welcoming drink. Upon arrival we found that we had been upgraded to a deluxe room with a fantastic view, which was a lovely surprise.
The hotel is not far from the major attractions on the island (e.g Vallee de Mai) but it feels very secluded and it is a genuine oasis of calm.
We found the staff went out of their way to help if need be - everyone was great, especially Christina, Ron and the bar staff.
There are a variety of excursions available, but as the hotel itself is so well laid out, it was very rare that we saw other guests. So if you just want to relax in the shade of a palm tree with a good book and have an occasional swim in the sea or their lovely pool, you're in the right place. There is a beautiful reef just off the hotel beach, with many fishes that make the snorkelling amazing. Lots of birds plus a group of tortoises in the garden make the place very special as well. We loved the food and the service at the meals was always fantastic. The jetty restaurant was simply amazing, having fish swimming below your feet when dining or having breakfast just added that extra touch (the fish are highly trained ;-)).
There is a small shop by the reception if you need some extra sun screen, postcards or shorts.
We booked a Swedish massage on the first day - it was so relaxing that 'one' of us fell asleep during the massage which we believe shows the excellent quality.
The only suggestion we do have for the hotel is to provide more detailed information about snorkelling and the best areas to go." See all these reviews: 7n in Seychelles

"La Reserve review"
6 nights Arrived 4 Jul 2011
"We had a fantastic time at La Reserve.
The hotel beach and the day trips offered by the hotel stood out in particular. The staff were always very friendly and helpful.
The only slight problem we had was that, as B&B guests, the options for dinner within the hotel itself were very limited and expensive, meaning we went out most nights. This wasn't too much of a problem for us as we enjoyed exploring, but it would have been nice to have the option to have something light and informal at the hotel." "Beautiful setting at La Reserve"
6 nights Arrived 19 Feb 2011
"We would like to be able to comment between good and excellent; it was lovely, the setting was perfect, spacious and quiet, amazing sea life too. We felt a bit under the spotlight as two women together, sometimes the behaviour of the staff wasn't entirely discreet perhaps. Perferred the more local food to international cuisine.
The access to complimentary boat trips to other islands was great, the team was friendly and helpful and a real addition to the holiday" See all these reviews: 6n in Seychelles

"La Reserve review"
2 nights Arrived 30 Oct 2010
"Our accommodation was very spacious and faced directly onto the beach. There was a bath and a very large shower-room at our disposal. The room was stylishly finished and very comfortable.
Staff were very courteous and friendly. On the slightly negative side, service at Reception was often very slow. There was not a conventional check-in type desk but generally two staff at desks, so often there was quite a wait to arrange taxis/trips.
Food in the restaurant was very good overall for both breakfast and dinner." See all these reviews: 5n in Seychelles
