"Remote luxury!"
The location is the main attraction: a remote pile of boulders overlooking vast, desolate plains and crumbling old volcanoes and mountains, with Zebras, Ostriches and Oryx wandering by. The accommodation is luxury camping, the food very high quality and the service is warm and attentive. Plus the activities were excellent, especially the sunrise and sundown drives.
Only downside was the noise in the rooms on windy nights - it kept me up the first night, as in my sleepy imagination, it sounded like animals circling the tent!" See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
"Fabulous location and upmarket small camp"
The staff (particularly the 'manager') were not attentive and didn't seem keen to please or ensure a good experience. We were only there for one night before moving to the Dune Camp. No activities were offered the first evening and they were happy enough for us to go off on our own walk across the plain for sunset, otherwise they were just offering drinks at the back of the camp.
It took some persuasion to get them to agree to do a sunrise drive the following morning and they seemed keen to have us on our way early that morning.
They did arrange a sunrise drive where the scenery was fabulous in the morning light. The two guides who took us were friendly and keen to help though obviously rather junior and simply drove us a few kilometres to a great spot for sunrise and then back.
Overall, could have been a fabulous experience but was let down by the lackadaisical attitude of the guides/manager.
When transferring to the Wolwedeans Dune Camp with your own vehicle you need to drive out to the main road and around up to the main camp which is quite a long journey whilst their own vehicles travel up the valley between camps." See all these reviews: 18n in Namibia

"Outstanding visit at Wolwedans Boulders Camp"
The camp is set in simply stunning film set like landscape. The cooking and cuisine are the best we experienced in Namibia-very high quality indeed.
The game/nature drives in this area are a real pleasure in such photogenic surroundings with a different mix of wild life.
Undoubtedly our best experience in Namibia." See all these reviews: 28n in Namibia; 5n in South Africa

"Wolwedans Boulders Camp review"
The only thing which we thought bizarre was the way Francois the chef was wheeled in to do the menu chat - Chester did it first and it was all straight forward - then Francois came in and did it all again in a very long winded and highly theatrical fashion. Tried too hard!
It was most unfortunate that they hadn't computed my allergies to spices - i couldn't eat the starter and had to wait while they sorted out and cooked me a main course without the seasoning." See all these reviews: 14n in Namibia
