Il Ngwesi Eco-Lodge: picture gallery

Il Ngwesi features rustic, open fronted cottages set on the hillside facing the Mukogodo escarpment
The rooms (this is #1) feature decks, live trees, and rustic furnishings.
Everything about the lodge feels part of the environment…
…from the furniture…
…and thatched roofs…
…to the "loo with a view" bathrooms;
…with natural light illuminating the ochre-coloured walls…
…to the very appealing outdoor showers…
…accessed down a short path from the rooms.
…and the serenity of the views from the decks.
Two of the rooms, interconnected by a footbridge…
…are ideal for families.
One has two beds…
…and a walled deck.
Again, the outdoor showers are a highly appealing feature.
The pool is a delight - perfect for cooling off, or watching the wildlife below....
... whilst the communal lounge is a good spot for a pre dinner drink...
... and watching the birds.
Walks up the Mukogodo Escarpment are very enjoyable, and the route has vantage points…
…from which you can look back east towards the lodge.
As you climb, you reach streams and pools…
…which your guide and armed escort will see you safely across.
The views are always good, but after rains (this was December 2013) the landscape is very green.
During the dry season the landscape looks very different ...
... and the wildlife at this time is still pretty good.
Silver-backed jackals are commonly seen...
... as are warthogs.
