Angama Amboseli: Our full report

Angama Amboseli is located in the Kimana Conservancy, in the eastern part of the Amboseli ecosystem.

We haven't yet visited the camp, but their own website states: "Set within a Fever Tree Forest in the heart of Kimana Sanctuary, this intimate lodge is the perfect start or finish to any East African safari. With the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, the peace and quiet of the Sanctuary are bound to leave guests feeling like they’ve found their very own haven."

There are ten guest chalets here  – stylish, modernistic dwellings faced with a mix of elephant dung and concrete and set off with dramatic fabric canopies. All of them have uninterrupted views of the mountain. The interiors are slickly designed, with lots of glass, super-king beds, and indoor and outdoor showers. They are equipped with spacious decks, writing desks and multiple charging points for your batteries and devices.

Activities at Angama Amboseli focus on game drives in the productive Kimana Conservancy, and further afield in Amboseli National Park itself, which takes around 45 minutes to an hour to reach from the lodge.

Our view

Although Expert Africa has yet to visit and inspect Angama Amboseli, we expect it to be as comfortable and well managed as its sister camp in the Mara.
