"Convenient stop-over in Kalahari"

1 night Arrived 31 Dec 2013
"This is a travellers hotel rather than a safari camp so it does not really pretend to be anything very special other than being the most likely place to stay in this area.

It was a convenient place to use en-route to more interesting places!" See all these reviews: 25n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Kalahari Arms Hotel review"

1 night Arrived 29 Sep 2013
"In restrospect, we felt that we needn't have stayed here at all, and would have preferred an extra night elsewhere, and then just driven from Nxameseri to Kalahari Bush Breaks for the final night; road surfaces were excellent, and it would have been easy to cover the distance in one day.

Hotel itself was adequate, but next door was a bottle shop one side and a take-away the other, and when we arrived, around 2.30 on a Sunday afternoon, the place was full of drunks - which kept up for the rest of the day. The hotel felt secure enough, but it felt rather uncomfortable that the guard and padlocked gates were to keep out wild people rather than wild animals!" "Not sign posted from the main road, but we found is reasonably easily anyway. Large swimming pool, but too cold this time of year, as elsewhere in Namibia and Botswana.

Nice location, in the middle of town, close to Spar and other shop." See all these reviews: 7n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana

"Kalahari Arms Hotel review"

1 night Arrived 6 Feb 2011
"A comfortable hotel quite well appointed. The rooms were a little basic by some standards but clean and well maintained. No fridge but they provided ice.

Battery charging is possible via shaver point in the bathroom (and an EU converter). There was a TV (though we hadn't really missed that in other places!) We did have a little trouble finding the hotel as it isn't signed from the main road but it was only a matter of a few minutes. Latterly we realised that it is visible from the main road if you look down the appropriate side road as you pass.

The food was very good." See all these reviews: 12n in Namibia; 3n in Botswana

"Very good for a one night stopover"

1 night Arrived 20 Sep 2008
"The hotel was less smart than expected but was conveniently placed in the town centre. The external air-con unit was placed dangerously at head height. However, any shortcomings were outweighed by the tea-making facilities in the room, secure parking, TV and air conditioning, friendly, helpful staff and really excellent food.

The waiter, Aobakwe, was extremely obliging and, amazingly, appeared to be running the restaurant single-handedly." See all these reviews: 10n in Namibia; 6n in Botswana
