"Our trip was everything we hoped for and more. Of course it would have been nice if there had more water in the Delta but that it an acceptable risk. We enjoyed the smaller camps and were particularly impressed by Great Plains and their attention to detail.
In our feedback form in Footsteps we did say to Ker &Downey that they should invest in more modern vehicles particularly since they had that long journey to and from the airstrip and water based activities.

"We had a wonderful 24-day road trip to Namibia in May / June 2024, followed by 5 days in Cape Town.

We really felt that we were listened too very carefully in the planning process.

I even got to see a pangolin which was top of my wish list.

"We thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The variety of scenery was fabulous and the standard of accommodation and food exceeded our expectations.

The itinerary and route worked out perfectly for 14 nights in the country. Everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming.

We weren’t expecting to see wildlife in such great numbers and to see so many baby animals was a great bonus.

Some of the road surfaces were quite challenging on the C and D roads, as were the roads to the waterholes in Etosha, but we did feel secure in our 4x4 and drove fairly cautiously, fortunately avoiding a puncture!

Chris McIntyre’s book was invaluable, particularly about the waterholes in Etosha, as well as the detailed travel documents and map. So much information on the website too, though some things need updating. For example, in Okaukuejo they no longer do a room inventory. "We had a very enjoyable trip, focused mainly on seeing parts of Namibia that were new to us.

The diverse landscapes, varied accommodations, intermittent sightings of wildlife, even the experience of two punctures and the help we received….it was all wonderful.

"Although we ended up staying at camps we had been before - one by choice, Chitabe Lebida - and the other because Sabe closed down and we ended up a Duma Tau, it was a perfect plant\ in terms of changes in habitat followed by a complete change at San Camp.

Our entire experience including transitions was seamless. The trip was magical and a great family experience.

"This was our seventh visit to South Luangwa National Park. We always return to the same camps and enjoy meeting up with the RPS staff. We cannot praise the staff members highly enough. They are fantastic! Knowledgeable, kind and courteous.

It is interesting comparing our many visits as the weather, vegetation and river change with the seasons and phenomena like El Niño. Animal and bird densities also vary. The more often we return the more we learn about the wildlife and the ecosystem.

We are happy with Expert Africa and very pleased with the service that Lucy provided. However we are concerned about rising costs. We acknowledge that inflation has been a serious problem and that the US dollar remains very strong. We would like to make an annual visit to Zambia but know that this is no longer affordable."
