My May 2024 trip
Botswana between 20 May 2024 and 5 Jun 2024
"Can't wait to do this journey again and look foward to trying other Wilderness camps such as Vumbra.
Maruska did a wonderful job working on our scheduling and keeping in touch throughout the process.
I am very happy to recommend her and Expert Africa to anyone who asks."

Mokete

"Mokete is a very unique camp in the Mababe Depression - so totally open plains area, surrounded by tree lines around Chobe park.
This is a special location and it was very interesting to know that the local village worked with Wilderness on an employment contract for the people at Mokete. Nearly all positions are staffed by the local people and with that being said there is some growing room for the staff to work as smoothly and professionally as established Wilderness camps.
Our guide, Sox, was so knowledgeable and filled us in on many stories about life as a bushman. He was most interesting. We had very special moments, candle light dinner in the bush (just wow), elephant watching from a buried container with windows (just wow), an unbelievable amount of animals.
Acommodations are not as luxurious but are more than adequate with a contemporary flair. Meals are buffet style and were tasty, though not as excellent as our other experiences. My husband enjoyed a super relaxing massage on our deck.
I think most importantly is to know that this camp and staff with grow with experience, but the animal experience can not compare - thousands and thousands of many varieties."

Little DumaTau
"Little DumaTau review"

"Wilderness made our trip to Dumatau so wonderful by ensuring our friend and guide, Taps was available. Dumatau has such memories for me as I was there with my Mother last year and it too, was her favorite camp.
The facilities are top notch, the staff experienced and professional. Our personal tents are so spacious with the living area, oversized outdoor deck and "romantic" tenting over the incredibly comfortable bed (at night warmed up with a hot water bottle). We were able to enjoy both the indoor and outdoor showers as the weather was super pleasant - not too cold, nor too warm.
The food is top quality, with the chef, Partner, presenting not only delicious choices (his soups are outstanding) but exquisite presentation. Animals are plentiful here and the opportunity to dine on the water on a pontoon boat is too much fun - with the hippos, crocodiles and elephant crossings.
We were treated to some extra special moments as the staff helped us celebrate our anniversary. I also took advantage of the spa with both a massage and a facial, which were totally relaxing and appreciated."

The acommodations are absolutely lovely at Tuludi, luxurious tents, outstanding common area, delicious food.
There were plenty of animals to see and we even ran into a honey badger, which is so rare! We took the opportunity to do a mokuru - I was concered about getting in and out of the boat, but it was no issue at all and lovely to go through the wetlands and discuss the area around us.
Enjoyed an outstanding bbq out in the bush on top of a viewing deck - wonderful fun to dine and overlook the hippos.
We were taken care of exceptionally well and look forward to our return in the future."
