"Disappointed with Nkwali"
Having said that our guide Fred pulled out all the stops to find us some animals, but as the Park is large we spent a long time speeding along gravel roads to change areas. Nonetheless we did get lions and a single leopard (at night), as well as the more normal giraffes, antelopes (various) etc.
2 nights was enough!" See all these reviews: 15n in Zambia; 4n in Malawi; 3n in Botswana
"Leopard at first sight"
Although we had heard about the wildlife at South Luangwa, we didn't have any expectations. We believe that the biggest joy comes from surprise, and we were definitely rewarded. On our first afternoon game drive we already saw a leopard, and more would follow in the coming days. Elephants visiting the camp, giraffes strolling along the road, hyaenas feeding on a buffalo, hippos in abundance, zebras, impalas, puku were just some of what we saw during our stay.
On our last morning during breakfast we watched a male lion strolling along the river banks of the Luangwa. What a wonderful farewell!" See all these reviews: 10n in Zambia

"Nkwali review"
Rooms remained little changed since our last visit, (in fact we were in the same one as last time) but it is now possible to open out the front to sit on small patio area which we liked. There had been some changes to the camp, most notably the moving of the swimming pool. We thought the new pool was much less inviting than the old one although it does have the advantage that guests are not required to be accompanied to the pool and back. Food was as good as ever; on our second night we were the only guests so had a private dinner on the deck.
Fred took us out on our drives; sadly the cats were hiding but we saw fascinating elephant and giraffe activity and lots of the usual suspects as well as some good birds. There were a lot more tsetses than we remembered at this time of year." See all these reviews: 5n in Zambia
"Baboons at Nkwali"
All the staff were so helpful and friendly, special mention of Chilumba our guide and Greg, the host. It was especially good to have our meals together with the guides and so have the opportunity to get to know them and Zambia better." See all these reviews: 8n in Zambia
"Leopard at last!"
Again, all the staff at Nkwali ensured a really pleasant stay." See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia

The only downside I experienced was the 30 minute drive to access the park through the main gate in order to explore new areas of the park. Game was a bit sparse, particularly carnivores, but I saw everything I expected to see while I was there." See all these reviews: 7n in Zambia
"A great start"
I was looked after during my stay by Christobel and Obi, and both could not have done more to make sure everything went well." See all these reviews: 12n in Zambia
