The Emerald Season is a real treasure

Zambia between 24 Feb 2011 and 7 Mar 2011

Trip rating: Excellent
"Everything worked smoothly and we really enjoyed our visit.

The itinerary planned by Lucy perfectly met our requirements and the Norman Carr team looked after our every need.

We will definitely travel again with Expert Africa.

Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:

Keep it just as it is!"

Kapani Lodge

Kapani Lodge

"A warm welcome and good game drives at Kapani"

5 nights Arrived 24 Feb 2011
"On our first night we had close views of lion and leopard as well as elephant, giraffe, zebra, impala and more. This surprised us because we thought that game would be scarce in the rainy season. It didn't rain much either! There was excellent bird watching as expected.

Our knowledgeable guide, Brian, maintained an enthusiasm on each game drive which belied the fact that he has been doing the job for years! Staff at the lodge were friendly and welcoming and the food was good. We felt comfortable, safe and looked after during our stay.

It was encouraging to see that local people were employed at all levels in the organisation. This is a refreshing change compared with many companies who seem only to employ local people in the more menial roles."

Kakuli Bushcamp

Kakuli Bushcamp

"A real bush experience at Kakuli"

5 nights Arrived 1 Mar 2011
"The bush walks were slightly compromised by marshy and boggy areas but we were loaned wellington boots by the camp staff and still managed to come face to face with lions whilst we were on foot. Our guide Aubrey was very professional and was able to give us many insights into some of the less obvious aspects of bush natural history.

The camp staff were attentive and friendly and provided us with excellent and varied meals. The camp manager Glen obviously has a good eye for detail and has built a relaxed and efficient camp team. A highlight was one evening when rounding a remote bend in the river to come upon a sundowners bar laid out on the river bank with the camp staff in attendance, a white table cloth laid and candles lit."
