Our trip to Kenya 2016
Kenya between 13 Feb 2016 and 26 Feb 2016
Richard asked what we wanted and gave us choices based on his expert knowledge.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
I can't think of anything! Expert Africa has now put three trips together for us and hopefully will do so again in the future."

Porini Amboseli Camp
"Elephant heaven at Porini Amboseli Camp"
Saruni Samburu
"Spectacular views at Saruni Samburu"
Zoe, Johann and all the staff were helpful and efficient and made us very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble.
Our guide, Sambara, was able to show us some wonderful wildlife, especially the beautiful young leopard on the way from the airstrip to the lodge, and the lioness who was moving her tiny cub to a new den. Lots of elephants too! We even had a great view from our room of the well used waterhole.
Bush breakfasts meant we were able to be out early and the bush dinner evening was a great experience."
Kicheche Bush Camp
"Super cats at Kicheche Bush Camp"
Food was innovative and excellent, lunch al fresco and dinner in the mess tent - all meals were very enjoyable and with interesting company.
Emma and Darren and all the staff made us very welcome and we wished we could have stayed longer."
The Emakoko
"The Emakoko - luxurious and comfortable"
The food and service were outstanding, and Anthony a very genial host. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, even making sure we were checked in for our flight with our chosen seats.
The rooms were huge, and very comfortably furnished, with a verandah as well."
Namibia 2010
Namibia between 22 Oct 2010 and 13 Nov 2010
We stayed in some very good lodges - for one or two nights - we should have stayed two instead of one. However, this was our choice, taking into account our budget and the time available.
Overall our trip was very good and we enjoyed a bit of luxury after our two weeks in the bush at Okonjima.
I think we were spoiled on the first two weeks for the amount of game we saw and exciting activities as our final weeks journey to Caprivi did not match that. It was however an interesting contrast to see a different part of the country and game sightings are largely a matter of luck!

We have travelled with Expert Africa before and were happy to do so again.
Tracy was always very helpful and did her best to fit in with our wishes."

PAWS (Okonjima) (Not currently featured by Expert Africa)
"Namibia 2010"
A fantastic experience! Hard work at times but good company and also the thought that our work had a purpose.
We were present at the final Cheetah release of the year and were able to see an earlier group of Cheetahs hunting for themselves, while we tracked them on foot for a very close-up view.
Game drives and activities every day so not all work!
Great views of Leopards too.
If you've watched "Cheetah Kingdom" on ITV - this was the real thing!
A very worthwhile project."

Ghaub Guest Farm
"Ghaub Guest Farm review"
The bird hide was equipped with binoculars for all to use.
Food & ambience very good.
Lovely gardens - good bird life.
A bit of luxury after two weeks in the bush.
Would have been happy to stay more than one night."
Ndhovu Safari Lodge
"Ndhovu Safari Lodge review"
Friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent food and lovely hand-painted crockery which was also on sale in the shop.
Riverside location with hippos in the water & elephants walking by on the other side.
Good for birding too.
We didn't take part in the activities as we just wanted to relax."
Lianshulu Lodge
"Lianshulu Lodge review"
Good food, and tables were beautifully decorated.
Very well-appointed room.
The game drive was a little pricey - unfortunately there was not a great deal of game to see but the view of the Carmine Beeeaters was a highlight.
We did not take the boat ride."
Nkwazi Lodge, Namibia (this camp has since closed)
"Nkwazi Lodge review"
The room was rustic and spacious with good facilities.
The location on the riverside was interesting - I was able to watch Angolan dancers on the opposite bank.
The food was very good and Valerie the owner welcomed everybody at the table. We were also treated to cake and drinks on arrival.
Valerie supports the local villagers with sales in her shop and also dancing displays - the money goes direct to them."

Waterberg Camp
"Waterberg Camp review"
Food and service at the restaurant were good.
We were able to walk up to the view point at the plateau in the early morning for a wonderful view, worth the hard scramble to get there.
The staff in the office were friendly and chatty."
We loved our stay here - the service was friendly and efficient, Julius was a great guide and it was good to know that our stay helped the local villagers to conserve their own way of life and their wildlife.
We were told that the camp was due for an upgrade, but the spacious tent was comfortable and the bucket shower system was good.
Food was simple and unpretentious, and plenty of it."
