A great holiday. A few niggles don't mar it.
Botswana and 1 other country between 25 May 2010 and 9 Jun 2010
We've never used an agency before. The Wilderness Safari and Sefofane linkage is, generally, so smooth it’s unbelievable. From the moment we arrived at our first stop, in Livingstone, we were whisked from point to point. Having travelled on our own for years, it was disconcertingly lovely to be told mid-afternoon that we'd be moving onto the next camp at, say, 11:30 - and just led by the hand. In itself that was a great luxury.
Having never been to southern Africa before, we were completely enchanted by the camps, wildlife and people."

Toka Leya Camp
"Very flexible, great meals and our only rhino"

Tubu Tree Camp
"Good hosts, great views and game."
The staff obviously enjoyed themselves - and that encouraged us to do the same."

Little Vumbura
"A James Bond reception and great game."
To follow it, the next day, with buffalo, cheetah and lion wasn't too shoddy either."

Private Mobile Camp, Botswana (this camp has since closed)
"A camp dedicated to just you - and it shows."
Our special request had been to see wild dogs - and we came across them three times. There simply aren't any other vehicles in the area - this is real bush.
Now there is a 5h30m trip from the airport to the camp - and then back again - but don't let this put you off. On the way in we say our only leopard of the trip and lions. On the way back we saw wild dogs and a lioness eating a giraffe. Treat the toing and froing as an extended game drive and you'll do just fine."

Marinas Camp, Botswana (this camp has since closed)
"Marinas Camp review"
Maun is interesting, but not very attractive. It's less than 10 minutes to the airport. Down a sandy track, it makes a lovely impression with the thatched rooms. The staff are very nice. The food is pretty good. The basket weaving outlet the other side of the main road is really worth a visit.
There were some minor niggles - but the service helps to compensate. Our room didn't lock from the inside (Botswana is pretty safe). Somehow the staff believed we were on the early morning flight out, not the mid-afternoon. So they came to clean our room a bit early - and they had to set up breakfast for us again. No real problems - and well reacted to."

Toka Leya was a very pleasant camp, with an up-market feel (that can be both a good and a bad thing). The food was excellent, with a choice of menus and timings to suit. The rhinoceros sighting was a game highlight - but our Land Rover herding baboons and warthogs was also amusing. Victoria Falls is the headline attraction - and well worth it. But the highlight was the local village and children - your heart will melt."
