Great safari experience
Zambia between 2 Sep 2009 and 16 Sep 2009
"Rating would have been very satisfactory if Chris hadn't been ill for 4 days. However the 2 camps concerned were very attentive."

Tena Tena
"Shame about no cats but lovely camp"
3 nights
Arrived
6 Sep 2009
"We were superbly looked after by Simon and Emma at Tena Tena. Unfortunately Chris had a reccurrence of her tummy bug, Simon arranged for the Doc to come out from Mfuwe, he prescribed some anti-bios and it cleared enough to resume game drives the following day. However, it did not completely clear untill we returned to the UK.
The camp was superbly run, food and accomodation were excellent, though disappointed not to see any predators during our stay. I have marked down the activities because of this.
Our guide Bertram was great, vibrant personality and fun to be with, he tried hard to find us some cats but it was not to be."

Kaingo Camp
"Great for Hippo,Carmines,Lion and Eles"
3 nights
Arrived
9 Sep 2009
"Kaingo had some fabulous facilities, both the Hippo hide and the Carmine Bee Eater hIde experience were very special. We also had great Lion and Elephant views/photo opportunities. Food was delightful and the accomodation and service fine.
Experience was spoiled somewhat by having to go on a game drive with Alison (the camp manager) one night instead of Derek Shelton (he had a cold) and not having one guide for our stay at the camp, we had 3 separate guides for the other drives.
We did eventually see a Leopard on the last drive, light not good enough for photos."

"As a relaxing camp following 9 days on safari it was ideal. The cottages were delightful and there were lots of activities to choose from if you wanted to be active. The majority of the staff coundn't have been more helpful and friendly.

We saw far more animals around the camp than in the National Park and were disappointed in the game seen within the park boundaries.
Our accomodation and service received by Debbie, Cariline, Neil, and all the staff was really great. Unfortunately Chris went down with a tummy bug which lasted through to our next camp (Tena Tena). We can't be sure but suspect it must have been caused by something consumed at Chongwe as the Doctor seen by Chris at Tena Tena said it would have been caused by something she ingested. Note I only mark down the Food below because of this occurence."
