Wonderful experience
Botswana between 1 Sep 2010 and 11 Sep 2010
"The whole trip was excellent. All the complex transfers worked smoothly. The camps were very good and all the activities very exciting.
Expert Africa know their stuff and were able to recommend what we really wanted to do.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
We found everything went as planned.
We decided to travel with hand luggage only. This made transfers and small plane flights much easier. With the washing facilities at each camp and a bit of planning on our part we had plenty for the trip. This is something you might like to convey to other travellers"

"This is in a lovely spot looking out on a lagoon.
Our tent was very comfortable, but unfortunately the electricity was not working. It failed each night about two minutes after we had been taken to our tent in the dark. It was mended every day but failed again in the same way each night. It would not have been a problem if the camp had accepted it was not working and given us some oil lamps.
The safaris were excellent with some exciting tracking of animals. Both the guide and tracker were very helpful. We also did a walk, a speed boat trip and a canoe trip so there was plenty of variety. The food was excellent.
The communal area was too small to seat everyone and the swimming pool was out of action so everyone tended to sit by there own tent during free time."

"This whole experience was a real treat.
Grant met us at the airport and immediately supplied food and drink. The drive to the camp was an adventure in itself. Five and a half hours through soft sand and deep water past small farms to begin with and then across deserted bush, except for the animals that is.
The camp was basic but very comfortable. The food was wonderful, many expensive restaurants do not produce food of this quality in their modern kitchens and Joyce did everything on a wood fire.
Grant is extremely knowledgable and knows the area around the camp really well so can spot the signs and changes that lead to some really good wild life viewing. We were on our own so were able to spend time watching animal behaviour.
On our first day a pride of lions had killed a buffalo and we were able to visit the site several times and watch the progess. We called in as we were leaving and were able to see hyaenas crunching the bones.
We thought everthing about this trip was magic, but it would not be for everyone. Some people would find the journey very difficult and not enjoy the total isolation or the very close encounters with the animals."

The communal area was comfortable and cool. This encouraged people to relax there and not to hide away in their tents.
Our guide was very good and knew where to find the more unusual animals. The experience with the meerkats was extraordinary and just one of several good surprises. The food was adequate, but quite ordinary."
