"Accommodations were comfortable, clean, and spacious. Our guide (K-One) and tracker (Vinny) were knowledgeable and helpful and particularly good at tracking animals. Setting of Lagoon Camp is beautiful, on the river, allowing close-up views of the many animals that regularly come to the river to drink. But water was very low and did not allow for any water activities.

The shop has many useful items such as extra clothing layers, books, and souvenirs."

"The private mobile safari was the most interesting and enjoyable part of our trip. Andrew and his crew did an outstanding job of making us feel welcome and comfortable. His explanations of the animals and their habits and habitat were by far the best of any guide we rode with. The food in the mobile camp was also wonderfully delicious and nourishing, far beyond what we would have expected with the limitations of a mobile camp. Saw two hyenas drink from water bowl outside tent one morning."

"Accommodations were clean and comfortable. There is wifi in the rooms, as well as yoga mats and hand weights for exercising. Setting is nice but water was very low, permitting only limited water activities. Sleep-out platform allowed beautiful view of stars and felt completely safe. Our guide was skilled at finding animals but we felt he could have explained more about the animals we saw.

A couple things to note:

Kanana utilizes guides only, and not a guide + tracker team. We thought the quality of the game drives could have been improved if the guide could focus on communicating with us rather than trying to do both jobs simultaneously.

The jeeps at Kanana are not covered like at the other camps we stayed in. We found it quite unpleasant to have the sun beating down on us, even with sun protection."
