A holiday to remember!
Botswana between 25 Jul 2009 and 3 Aug 2009
"everything went absolutely to plan - we didn't have any 'hitches' at all - and all the staff at Linyanti Camp, Kwhai Camp and on Mboma island were absolutely first class.
It certainly was an experience that we will never forget - not just as a resut of the amazing range of game that we saw, but also the great people from African Bush camps that we got to know (if only for a short time)."

"Camping with elephants!"
1 night
Arrived
29 Jul 2009
"The one night spent on Mboma Island is a night that we will never forget. We were told over dinner by our guide that we might have visitors during the night and that we should lie back and enjoy it. We were woken by elephants munching away at the bushes at around midnight and spent the next couple of hours within a few feet of them!
The camp is, of course, much more basic than the semi-permanent sites, but we were made most comfortable by our hosts Shaba and Ogan who looked after us perfectly. The bucket-shower was a great experience, the food was very good and the guys were very pleasant company.
The boat safaris to and from the island were also fantastic. We saw a wide range of animals and birds which complemented the "normal" dry-land safaris perfectly."

Khwai Lediba
"lovely stay being spoiled at kwhai"
3 nights
Arrived
30 Jul 2009
"We spent three-nights at Kwhai tented camp and were spoiled rotten from the first to the last minute by the friendly and competent staff. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home and our needs were catered for at all times.
The tented rooms are smaller than in Linyanti Bush Camp, but nevertheless extremely comfortable. The lack of running water and electricity in the camp simply adds to the experience! We always had plenty of hot water whenever we needed it and the bucket showers were just great. The food and service at mealtimes were excellent too.
The game drives were a real treat with our guide Pilot. Polite, friendly, extremely knowledgable and a whole lot of fun, he enabled us to see lions on three different occasions, spend around an hour observing and then following a cheetah and then shortly afterwards to see a leopard.
Game was generally easier to spot in the Kwhai area than it had been in our previous camp in Linyanti because of more open areas and Pilot certainly helped us get "our money's worth" with his skill.
If you are travelling in July make sure you do bring some warm clothes as it certainly does get chilly after sundown and stays so until well into the morning. The warm ponchos provided for the game drives and the hot-water bottles in the beds were great!
The only negative comment is that we were asked to sign a form in which we exonerate African Bush Camps from any responsibility even in the case of gross negligence. The wording needs to be changed here."

The daily game drives with Tati were a treat and the time just flew by. The general thick vegetation in the Linyanti area means that spotting game is maybe not as easy as in other areas, but Tati did everything humanly possible to enable us to see a whole range of animals and birds. He was friendly, courteous and extremely informative at all times. The sundowners were a real treat, and the warm ponchos were a blessing in the early morning and after sundown.
Although we knew in theory, we were still suprised at how cool it was from sundown until late morning. Warm clothing is a must in July - the hot-water bottles in our bed were lovely though.
The only slightly negative thing to say about the stay was the form we were asked to sign in which we agree to exonerate African Bush Camps for any blame even in the case of gross negligence. Something should be done about the wording here."
