"A nice place to stay in Maun.

We were here for less than 24 hours.

It's great being able to walk around unaccompanied as there are no predators.

Tents were comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful."

"This was our second mobile tented safari with Andrew, this time to the Central Kalahari Game reserve, for a very different experience.

The CKGR is probably not somewhere to go on your first Africa trip as the game density is lower than some other areas. But it makes up for this in so many other ways - Incredible isolation (you see very few other vehicles), different game ( oryx, springbok, red hartebeest, bat eared foxes, honey badgers, ground squirrels, different birds) ; great scenery; night skies as good as you will see anywhere; no mobile phone or internet :-)

We did see lots of game but it is definitely more dispersed so you travel much bigger distances when out driving.

Guiding from Andrew was first rate. All his staff were fantastic and produced great meals from a very rudimentary "kitchen""

"This lovely small camp has recently reopened. I believe it previously focussed on walking safaris but now offers a broader range of activities including boat and mokoro trips.

There are only four tents so you will rarely see other vehicles when out on a drive. There was a lot of game here, something different round every corner. Big herds of lechwe, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, elephants, lots of birds etc. Guiding from Robbie was fabulous. He was so good at positing the vehicle for photography.

The rooms were beautiful and the food and service first rate.

"We loved this camp, which was our last on the trip and definitely the smartest.

Beautiful main building and individual tents in a fantastic location overlooking the water with lechwe, buffalo and wart hogs walking around in front of the deck. Food was superb and great camp staff.

Game viewing was great. We saw wild dogs on the first evening, lions hunting, two really great leopard sightings. Izzy our guide was fantastic - really knew how to position the car for the best shots and went out of his way to find what we were looking for. A friend on the trip had told him jokingly that he needed to find a Pel's fishing owl. So he went and found one during his lunch break perched perfectly in the trees nearby

We even ( unexpectedly) got helicoptered into and out of the camp because the water level was high

Overall a fantastic camp with great guiding."
