My Aug 2023 trip
Botswana and 1 other country between 6 Aug 2023 and 15 Aug 2023
"This trip was just fantastic - from the very kind and helpful staff at each camp to the amazing animal viewing.
It's really great to see the efforts underway to protect these animals and their habitats."

Lebala Camp

"Lebala camp was incredible.
Our guide, Mr. G, and tracker, KB were fantastic. They were enthusiastic to get started with game drives right away, the first one starting when we were picked up from the airplane.
Their knowledge of birds and mammals brought great insight into the interactions of species.
We weren't only looking for the big 5, but they also took our request to see other smaller animals into consideration during the game drives. Mr. G's passion for photography was evident in our travel photos.
The camp accommodated our request for vegan meals and kindly held the vegan dishes aside until we arrived. The meals were pleasant and well executed and the vegan dishes were clearly labeled.
The cabin was cozy, comfortable, but also chilly at night - pack some warm jammies."

Little Vumbura
"Little Vumbura review"
3 nights

"The Little Vumbura camp was amazing.
The chalet was huge with a variety of animals we could see right outside the veranda. The other buildings were also very nice, including the lovely open dining area with intimate tables for our party.
Benjamin, our tracker, and our guide were both very knowledgeable and helpful in finding different species for us to view. They kept track of the animals we had seen so they could focus on getting us to ones we hadn't seen yet. However, the guide was still a bit more focused on carnivores killing and eating, even after we asked them to spend more time looking for other species.
It was so thoughtful when the staff held a surprise celebration for my daughter's 13th birthday, singing and presenting our party with a vegan cake - delicious!
We also had a surprise lunch served on the veranda which was a charming and special treat. The food was also stylishly presented.
We enjoyed hearing about the five villages and their agreement to develop this camp, as well seeing a demonstration of basket weaving and other craft making. We were impressed by the concentration on animal preservation and eco sustainability.
There were no insects bothering us in this dry season in Botswana."

Breakfast was buffet was helpful to get us off to a quick trip back to the airport for our onward flight. There were several good vegan options including fruit, potatoes, roasted tomatoes, and cereal.
The meet and greet representative from NAS Colossal Aviation was very helpful and definitely worth adding on to your trip.
He met us at the bus at the Johannesburg airport. He was friendly and helpful with picking up our luggage and then leading us to the front of the line for immigration and customs. He then kindly showed us to the hotel and explained how we could get back to the airport the next morning."
