My Aug 2024 trip
Zambia between 2 Aug 2024 and 16 Aug 2024
Have to say Tours Africa were excellent as in country support too.
Zambia & SLNP were great and I'm sure I'll be back and Megan will be my first point of contact!"

Luangwa River Camp
"Luangwa River Camp review"
Met positively by the camp host (Bianca) & given the full tour of camp & my room for the 2-night stay. This was followed by a light lunch & then a few hours down time to sort my stuff prior to coffee & cake before the first drive!
Points to note :-
1. All drives will be in the South Luangwa NP which is on the opposite side of the luangwa river so every drive starts & ends with a river crossing - I believe by September river levels will have dropped enough to allow for a vehicle crossing.
2. Rooms are large with big bathrooms containing bath & shower options - plus good water pressure!
3. Baboons & vervet monkeys regularly in camp but no significant issues."

Nsefu
"Nsefu review"
Rooms are relatively small & have glassless windows plus open bathrooms so some of our smaller creatures do make appearances e.g. tree frogs, swifts & bats at night but your bed is protected by a large mosquito net.
The Nsefu area in inside the SL NP so no need to cross the river for your drives/walks once in camp."

Robin Pope Safaris bush-camp
"Robin Pope Safaris bush-camp review"
You do get separate toilet & bucket shower tents but these are slightly away from your personal tent so require a little bravery & small torch if you need the facilities during the night!
Food is brough out from the nearest RPS camp so no actually cooking in the camp area."

Tena Tena
"Tena Tena review"
Camp central area is good with a relaxed feel, raised bar area & meeting points for drinks, pre-drive coffee & dinner at night - rooms here are spread out away from the bar area so if you prefer a shorter walk in/out ask for one of the closer rooms.
The camp has a fully grown bull elephant - George - who regularly visits at night!!"

Nkwali
"Nkwali review"
Good sized rooms open front & back - front is semi closed at night - but with large mosquito net protecting the bed area. Camp receives regular animal visitors from baboons/vervets to mongoose & bush buck plus lots of bird life (& the occasional elephant at their water hole near the dining deck).
African drums call you at wake up, lunch & dinner to add a local touch too.
Nkwali whilst away from the central SLNP area is busier than the other RPS camps so you will see other cars especially if your guide goes into the central park zone to look for sightings."

Reception is efficient, rooms good & staff are helpful & friendly with an excellent bar area for relaxing, lovely pool/gardens if you have the time & fully recommend the freshly cooked omelette option for breakfast at a garden table.
Tours Africa do an excellent job from the transfer option too."
