My Jul 2023 trip
Zambia between 3 Jul 2023 and 11 Jul 2023
"We can’t say enough good things about our trip. You could say it was the trip of a lifetime but we loved it so much we’re already working on our return.
While Zambia itself: the people, the area, and the wildlife obviously is incredible, the trip wouldn’t have been the experience it was without Lucy [of Expert Africa]. She helped us decide on where to stay and did the hard work figuring out how to get us from place to place. Everything was seamless.
The only difficulties with the whole trip were the parts we planned ourselves. I was definitely wishing I’d worked with Lucy for the South Africa portion!
As soon as we decide in dates for our return to Zambia, I will be in touch with Lucy.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
I would like to be able to give some constructive criticism, but I just think ever portion of this experience was incredible, thank you."

"Nkwali was our first stop in South Luangwa and I couldn’t imagine a better place to begin. The staff was so welcoming, especially Sorrell and Kiki and our guide, Victor.
The chalets were spacious and comfortable, and well set up for the evening by the staff. The common areas overlooking the river and the hippos was a perfect way to start the day.
I really enjoyed the large common dining table that was used for dinners (and one lunch), we had a great time talking with our fellow travelers and some of the staff during meals."

"We never wanted to leave Mchenga. The rooms were spacious, cleverly designed, beautiful, and well situated. Everything was so private. The staff were absolutely incredible. We were in awe of our guide Charles, he knows so much about the park, the history, and the wildlife. We also had the pleasure of being joined by one of the photographers, Luke, on our drives. He added to the fun. It’s clear that the staff have a great amount of respect for each other. Even though we were in rural Zambia, the luxury at Mchenga was something I’ve never experienced.
The food was excellent and beyond plentiful. My only bit of criticism was that it was possibly too much food! We really enjoyed our first stop on our trip, near the main gates of the park, but the sightings further north near Mchenga were more numerous and spectacular. Going out on drives from Mchenga, it wasn’t unusual to see only 1-2 other vehicles the entire time. Also, the Time and Tide trucks were significantly more comfortable than the others.
We want to return to Zambia and are planning to only stay at Time & Tide camps. We just don’t know if it will be to experience the rainy season in South Luangwa or if we will explore other parks!"

Waterberry Zambezi Lodge

"Waterberry was beautiful and welcoming. We were only there a short time, so we didn’t have too much time to explore all they had to offer. The food was delicious.
We went on a trip to Victoria Falls, they were beautiful and it was exactly what we were looking for. Our guide was very kind, but it was clear he was not as experienced or knowledgeable as other guides we’d had elsewhere.
We also did the evening cruise on the Zambezi, which was better than expected. It was just us and one other couple, our guide Weddy showed us all the different birds on the bank, we saw a number of crocs and spent a long time just watching a family of baboons. It was a beautiful and relaxing way to spend our final night in Zambia."

Our room was extremely clean, well-equipped, and very large.
We had cocktails and dinner in the restaurant, which were great, as was breakfast."
