My Aug 2021 trip
Botswana between 17 Aug 2021 and 30 Aug 2021
"Our first trip to Botswana was a life changing experience.
It all started off on the right foot with Tracy as our trip specialist. She totally understood what kind of experience we were hoping to get and provided us with options that in the end put together the most perfect itinerary. She also found us deals which helped us to maximize the value for our budget.
There was relaxation, adventure, and variety, and it was all down to the thought through details and logistics.
We did not have any issues at all on our trip and can't recommend Expert Africa enough."

Botswana Private Mobile Safari

"We had a great experience overall with Andrew! He is very knowledgeable, kind, and fun -- an important attribute when you are spending all day, every day together.
Andrew's mobile safari camp was the second of three camps for us and it was the exact adventure we were looking for after starting at a traditional camp. We did 5 nights: 2 at Moremi Game Reserve and 3 at Savuti. It was really cool to see two different landscapes and also drive through a couple villages.
The game viewing was definitely less dense than the other camps we visited as we were in national parks and we couldn't go off road, but Andrew did an amazing job tracking and mixing it up so that it always felt like an adventure. One afternoon we did a little rock scramble to look at old San paintings, another we watched hyena pups pop out of their den. One highlight was the entire day trek we did from one camp to the next — we drove through the Mobabe Depression, napped under two trees, spent a lot of time reading and writing as Andrew drove the land cruiser.
It was different from your usual game drive day, but if you're looking for an adventure and another way to experience Botswana, Andrew's mobile safari is for you. If your entire goal is to have action packed game drives, note that on occasion you may drive for an hour or two without seeing much of interest as the camps are in national parks, and you also have to be back in camp before sunset.
The food was on par with the luxury camps and the staff he brings along — 5 people in our case — were great. Dinner and evening hang outs around the fire were informative and relaxing. Andrew had so many great stories and knew a lot about the constellations (the night sky is unreal). The camp set up itself was very comfortable given the mobile set up, though it did get hot inside the tents during siesta if the day was very hot.
Highly recommend mixing Andrew's mobile safari camp with the traditional camps, you just get to experience Botswana in a different, very intimate way!"

Splash Camp

"Wow! Super nice camp with modern decor and excellent game viewing. Amazing views from the chalets looking out onto the lagoon. The density of game, especially zebra, antelope, and buffalo was higher than any other place we visited on our trip. We also had a run in with lions right in camp!
The guides and trackers here were top-notch, on par with Lagoon, the other Kwando camp we visited. COVID protocols were in place to keep everyone safe, with masks and daily temperature checks.
They also arranged for a nurse to fly-in for our exit COVID test so we could maximize our time on safari."

It was amazing to watch our guide and tracker go to work, reading the tracks at the waterhole, determining where the animals had gone and, then, not long after, finding them in their element! Our guide and tracker at this camp were truly incredible — so much so that we will request them for our future trips to Botswana. They really made our experience memorable as we were just learning so much all the time about the wildlife, the vegetation, and the history of Botswana.
The camp staff was incredibly welcoming and we were blown away by the size of the chalet. Many COVID protocols were in place, such as taking temperatures and wearing masks. We felt very safe, especially since all activities are open air."
