My Oct 2022 trip
Zambia between 4 Oct 2022 and 13 Oct 2022
The trip was brilliant - the lodges, the game sightings, the organisation were all top notch. Sitting here looking out of a widow on the grey sky and lashing of rain in the West Of Ireland I have wonderful memories of our first time in Zambia.
We will be back!"

Chikoko Tree Camp
"Chikoko Tree Camp review"
The walking was pretty easy as it was mainly over flat terrain and the main heat of the day from 11.00 - 15.00 was avoided as we were in the camp during this period having lunch and a rest after our early start.
One thing worth noting is that on a walking safari you tend to see fewer animals than you do on a game drive - though those you do see give you more of an "Adrenalin" moment. We also learnt a lot more about stuff on the ground, the trees & plants, the animal tracks etc - we are now experts on dung beetles!
We really enjoyed this part of our trip walking through the bush but perhaps this wouldn't suit someone on their first safari."

Big Lagoon Camp
"Crocodile Bushcamp review"
The room was fabulous - again overlooking the river - wish we had spent more time there.
The same comments I made re Chikoko Tree Camp apply to this camp (which is now called "Big Lagoon") - basically a wonderful experience walking through the bush but you see fewer animals than on a game drive so perhaps not for those whose main interest is animal sightings."

Tafika
"Tafika review"
We did early morning game drives and evening drives and spend the hot part of the day having lunch and relaxing in the camp. We saw lots of animals and enjoyed the fact that we spent time observing the animals rather than being rushed. Tafika has a policy of no more than 4 in a vehicle and we really appreciated this.
The guiding was great - we particularly enjoyed the night drives which enabled us to see lions & wild dogs preparing for their hunt. Pretty magical.
Staff were friendly, and super helpful - special shout out to Val and Levi."

The camp was great - a different lodge experience for us in that you could book drives, eat etc if and when you wanted. The location was perfect - not too far from the airport and not too far from the entrance to the park.
We were able to see elephants, impala, hippos, wart hogs in the grounds of the camp itself which was a real bonus.
The staff were friendly, helpful and we particularly liked the real "laid back vibe" of the place."
