EA does what it says in on the website
Zanzibar and 1 other country between 15 Nov 2008 and 28 Nov 2008
"Excellent. We enjoyed all aspects of our trip and were impressed with the accuracy of EA's descriptions of the various parts of our holiday and what we might expect. The lists of what to pack etc were also extremely helpful, as was the Brandt guidebook.
I should also mention Claire Scott, who dealt very efficiently with our holiday arrangements whilst Eleanor was away."

"Good place to stay when in Stone Town"
2 nights
Arrived

"A good place to stay for a day or two whilst visiting Stone Town. Whilst the hotel is clean, modern and of a relatively high standard, its location is what makes it standout. This, and the pool, is excellent.
There are some very good restaurants near by, serving real culinary delights, in particular the at Beyt al Chai (opposite) and the Silk Route (near the fort)."

Kinasi Lodge
"An unspoilt corner of East Africa"
5 nights
Arrived
22 Nov 2008
"This island remains almost untouched by tourism, giving a real glimpse of traditional East African life. There are no signs of any western brands and the main town is one street of little shops, selling everything from mangos to denim jeans. The roads are still untarred and the people continue to go about their business in the way they probably always have done.
The lodge, which nestles on a beautifully landscaped bank, instantly gives you a sense of peaceful seclusion. The southern African couple who run the lodge were extremely welcoming and friendly.
A real delight was a special seafood supper under the stars beside the sea - just for the two of us. The centrepiece of the meal was a large crayfish, bigger than most lobsters we see!
The coral reefs are spectacular with a diverse range of tropical sea life. We went to a different part of the reef everyday, motoring out and sailing leisurely back in the dhow.
This is a very special place, almost unique in the experience it offers visitors. One can only hope that it doesn't sucumb to the lure of mass tourism, which has occured in other parts of the East African coast."

The local troop of red colobus monkeys were a delight and they are not camera shy! Although we were unlucky in not seeing any dolphins, we did have the wonderful experience of sailing in a wooden dhow to have a picnic lunch on our own sandbank in the middle of the aqua blue sea - heavenly.
Unfortunately the coral in this area is less spectacular than that surrounding Mafia Island. Marine Park restrictions are not strictly enforced and this seems to be having a negative impact on the coral and sea life that depends upon it."
