"We loved everything about this camp and could find no fault with it at. Nick, Micole and all the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the animals and the area in general. We felt that our guide Yohanas and driver Alex went out of their way to make sure we got the most out of our trip. Initially we were a little apprehensive about this camp, as this was our first visit to Africa and our first safari and we thought it might be a little too basic for us but the camp is exactly what it says it is and in our opinion it was a wonderful experience. How the staff manage to cook and serve such lovely food is amazing. Yes, some of the food was occasionally not piping hot but in the main it was and you have to remember where you are and how far the staff have to carry it! The lunches we had out on safari were really good, meat, pasta, rice, fruit etc most unexpected and very welcome after a hard morning watching wonderful animals! As well as all the usual animals we were very lucky to see cheetahs busy eating. We would recommend this camp to anyone old or young, (we are in our 60's) but were happy that we visited this camp first and moved our way up the luxury scale, as some people who had been to more luxurious camps first were a little disappointed."

"We had a wonderful time at Selous Impala camp and felt it made an excellent contrast to Mdonya camp in the Ruaha. The river offers another dimension to a safari and we could not have had a better guide than Gerard whose knowledge about the wildlife on the river in particular is outstanding. Our driver and guide Dennis who took us on our bush safari was also very knowledgeable. The camp is very well run by Chloe and her team and is in such a beautiful position that it all adds up to make for a wonderful experience, we loved every minute of it. Our waiter David looked after us very well in the restaurant and made us feel very at home and the food was extremely good. We would recommend this camp to anyone planning a safari. We liked having half day safaris with a rest in the afternoon and found this an ideal arrangement."

"Echo beach is in a beautiful spot with open access to the vast empty beach. It is relatively new and Sue and Andrew have created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. They have had some staffing problems but they are continually working hard to improve this. The bandas are lovely and the gardens very pretty. This is a very quiet area and there are no activities or other facilities nearby so this is very much a chill out and relax place, however tours and activities can be arranged. The food was very good although we felt that some of the lunchtime menu dishes were rather small, more starter sized than main dish sized."

"An atmospheric small hotel, we only stayed here overnight but had a warm welcome and were well looked after. An early breakfast at 5am was offered without any problem."
