My Aug 2008 trip
Namibia between 6 Aug 2008 and 22 Aug 2008
We thought the country was stunning and easy to to get around in . Clearly there is a 'tourist trail' as we met other guests on more than one occasion. Having 'hosts' avaliable gave us an opportuntiy to have a wider picture of the country through discussion with them. We found people helpful and friendly . Because of its size, small population and recent history it is a very unthreatening place.
I would like Lodges/ camps to offer visits to local projects in order to gain more information about the local conditions and give opportunties to to have more experience of local people . I appreciate this would very superficial because of the constraints of time , but interesting. I understand this is something Waterberg offer.but which we could not experience.
Suggestions for improvement:
I have mentioned one in overall comments. If some Lodges/camps could offer more activities it would be worth staying for a longer period . Two weeks we appreciate is very llittle time to see so much, and the organisation of our a trip proved very efficient."

"Secret Garden Guesthouse review"
Despite detached manner the proprietor (Peter) had organised everything efficiently, (booking meals arranging tour).
Welcome novelty of heated bathroom floor as weather cold, well designed room
The Walvis Bay sea trip should not be missed, culminating in champagne and oystrs"

Etendeka Mountain Camp
"Etendeka Mountain Camp review"
Had a wonderful Indian head massange from his wife Clare. Pick up drive was part of the attraction, number of game seen.
Opportunity to go on guided walk particularly appreciated"

Anderssons Camp, Namibia (this camp has since closed)
"Anderssons Camp review"
Water hole attracted game easily viewed from outdoor lounge. Distance from game park should be noted, nearly half an hour drive to actual beginning of Park. Lack of signposting to camp at Anderssons Gate . Charges for activities not publisied , we were surprised to be charged 700 dollars for a one and a half hour walk - was it an error ? Range of activities available not very clear
Staff very friendlyand helpful (prticularly trainee Agnes). Three nights sufficient as two days in Park enough to cover western and central area ,and two days sitting in car is enough. Wish there were possibilities for guided walk within park."

Waterberg Wilderness Lodge
"Waterberg Wilderness Lodge review"
We would have like two nights here (in exchange for one less at Anderssons) to take advantage of the tours., one of which appeared to involve a visit to local nursery/orphanage.
Again experience was Very Good"
Access details could have been clearer, well designd attractive room"
