I enjoyed working out availiability with Susannah via email as we didn't book holiday until March and some camps were unavailable.
Our experience was that the vast majority of birds and animals were seen on the game drives and very little seen on the water. We realised how vital good guiding is to the whole experience.
Nambia and Botswana guideline booklets were very useful"
Lagoon Camp
"Lagoon Camp review"
Selinda walking trail, Botswana (this camp has since closed)
"A not to be missed experience on Selinda walk"
Evenings by the camp fire were magical, looking up at the stars - a real feeling of being in the wild. The whole experience helped us to get a better appreciation of life in the bush. The tent was fairly basic but comfortable and the bucket showers added to the experience. We were made to feel very welcome and we were well fed and looked after.
It is a pity that the walking trails are to be discontinued and the camps seem to be going upmarket but we would certainly recommend this area to see a wide range of bird and animal life amd feel that a walking safari adds a different dimension to any safari. We would definately repeat this experience if it was possible."

Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp
"Nxabega Safari Camp review"
The food was beautifully prepared and presented and the staff were superb. Our guide and tracker (Dux and Stanley) were knowledgeable and actively tracked the game. We saw cheetah at night even though large game is not always present here.
We felt that we didn't have much opportunity to get to know everyone in camp as you were put in a fixed group for the activities and also put on a small table at dinner with the same people. It would have been better if you could choose the activity which then determined the group."
Sandibe Safari Lodge
"Sandibe Safari Lodge review"
The water activities were a little disappointing as mokoros weren't on because of hippo in the channel and we didn't see much from the slow electric boat although it was entertaining.
If we hadn't done water activities at previous camp would have been disappointed."
Hilltop House, Namibia (this camp has since closed)

The room was great and there was a warm welcome."

Sossus Dune Lodge
"Sossus Dune Lodge review"
You can also easily walk to the impressive Sesriem Canyon. Spacious, comfortable room and bathroom with a good view from the verandah overlooking the dunes -the fridge in the room was a nice touch. It would have been useful to have had more information about the area and available activities in the room.
Food at dinner was disappointing and none of the good wines on the wine list were available. There is a large, comfortable bar/lounge area which is ideal for pre dinner drinks and watching sunset."
Zebra River Lodge
"Zebra River Lodge review"
We seemed to have a more baisc room than others and were offered a change the second day but didn't take it as we were just about to go on a walk.
Lots of opportunities for walks with good maps and explanations. An ideal end to a busy holiday."

Olive Grove
"Olive Grove review"
Best breakfast of the holiday with an extensive choice.
The staff were very helpful at booking a restaurant fordinner for us."
Unfortunately, the wild dogs which been regularly sighted had moved dens due to a puppy being taken by a lion but the search for the new den seemed to dominate all activities. Also, the guiding was diaappointing as our guide had only just moved to this camp and seemed to rely heavily on the tracker for directions. One day, the game drive was just a transfer of other guests with limited time to stop and watch the game.
Unusually,we didn't see any predators during our stay although we do realise that this not guaranteed, we felt that the guide could have given us more general information to maintain our interest. However, we styill enjoyed our stay at this camp as it is a great location."
