My Mar 2022 trip
Kenya between 18 Mar 2022 and 28 Mar 2022
"We discussed our trip with Richard almost three years ago, and we finally made it after 2 years of rolling- 'thanks' to Covid. Richard was extremely knowledgable and helpful, during the planning and very supportive when we had to keep postponing. The lodges were as he had described (only better). He really understood what we wanted from our trip and we thoroughly enjoyed all his recommendations. Thank you Richard!"

Kicheche Bush Camp
"Kicheche Bush Camp review"

"We had a great time at the very comfortable Kicheche Bush Camp, with wonderful game drives, sightings, great hosts, and friendly guests. The camp is geared towards photographers, which was exactly what we wanted. The food was delicious, with large portions. I had delicious gluten free options. We were unfortunately unwell during our stay at the camp (only missed one drive), however, we felt that the staff did everything they could to look after us and we were soon back on our feet again."

Balloon flight over the Mara
"Balloon flight over the Mara review"
24 Mar 2022 • Morning excursion
The balloon ride was very comfortable, although we had hope we would be up before the sun rise. We were up just after sunrise, so the light was still good. The boarding and disembarkation were good and well organised. There was a safety briefing prior to take off and the pilot seemed very competent. We stayed at a low altitude, which meant we were able to see the wildlife very well. The breakfast was also good.
Excellent
We slept under the stars on the 'star bed' and got woken by the moonlight as the moon rose over the hills. Our room overlooked the waterhole, we saw leopard, elephants, reticulated giraffe, so many grazing animals and birds from our room. We had game drives and bush walks with our very knowledgeable and enthusiastic driver and guide, Sankei, trainee guide Terrace and Franklin, the ranger. Il Ngwesi is a wonderful lodge, owned and run by the Maasai community. It's not a top end luxury resort but it felt authentic, it was very comfortable and staff were wonderful. We highly recommend it."
