"Some may consider the lodge to be quite remote, but we loved the location and the long drive to get there from the airstrip. The drive took us twice as long as expected, due to the number of animals and birds we saw along the route, including the critically endangered black rhino. The lodge is rustic in design, but clean and comfortable. We were the only guests staying at the lodge, and the staff made us feel so welcome. We don't consider ourselves to be particularly demanding guests, but nothing that we asked for was too much trouble.

We slept under the stars on the 'star bed' and got woken by the moonlight as the moon rose over the hills. Our room overlooked the waterhole, we saw leopard, elephants, reticulated giraffe, so many grazing animals and birds from our room. We had game drives and bush walks with our very knowledgeable and enthusiastic driver and guide, Sankei, trainee guide Terrace and Franklin, the ranger. Il Ngwesi is a wonderful lodge, owned and run by the Maasai community. It's not a top end luxury resort but it felt authentic, it was very comfortable and staff were wonderful. We highly recommend it."

"We had a great time at the very comfortable Kicheche Bush Camp, with wonderful game drives, sightings, great hosts, and friendly guests. The camp is geared towards photographers, which was exactly what we wanted. The food was delicious, with large portions. I had delicious gluten free options. We were unfortunately unwell during our stay at the camp (only missed one drive), however, we felt that the staff did everything they could to look after us and we were soon back on our feet again."
