My Aug 2022 trip
Zambia between 14 Aug 2022 and 24 Aug 2022
All of our in-country travel and accommodations were arranged by Expert Africa. Upon our arrival in Lusaka we were met by kind and very helpful representatives from Expert Africa to get us to our hotel and to get us to the airport the next day. They helped us with our luggage and the entire check-in process. All in-country flights on Proflight Zambia were arranged by Expert Africa and coordinated with the bush camps to ensure we were met at each airport/airstrip.
Our experience with Expert Africa started in 2019 when we originally booked an August 2020 safari. That trip, due to COVID-19, did not happen but Lucy, our Expert Africa Travel Specialist, was able to coordinate the move of our reservations to 2021. In 2021, travel to and from the US to Africa was problematic due to COVID test requirements and frequent airline cancellations. Lucy was able to coordinate yet another extension of our reservations to August of 2022.
Throughout this entire timeframe we found the service provided by Expert Africa to be outstanding. Before our August 2022 safari, we thought a safari would be a once in a lifetime experience. After the amazing experiences we enjoyed at Anabezi Camp and Lion Camp it is now not a question of if we will return, but when. And when we do return, we will use Expert Africa to book the trip."

Anabezi Luxury Tented Camp
"Anabezi Luxury Tented Camp review"
The entire team at Anabezi Camp went above and beyond to make every moment of our safari experience the best it could be. The dining experience at Anabezi Camp was exceptional. Before our morning game drives we could have a custom omelet prepared or a wide variety of items from the breakfast buffet. There was an expresso machine available anytime of day/night for any type of coffee. The lunchtime and dinner menus were varied and included both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Dinners at Anabezi Camp were exceptional. The dining patio at Anabezi Camp was beautiful day and night.
Our guide while at Anabezi Camp, Presley, was world class. It is difficult to imagine a guide with more knowledge, better educational skills and better ability to place people in front of amazing wildlife – in spectacular light.
With respect to wildlife viewing, Anabezi Camp is optimally located within the Lower Zambezi National Park. During our four days at Anabezi Camp every location we visited while on game drives was filled with wildlife. We were absolutely astonished by the abundance of wildlife in this section of the park. The Winterthorn grove adjacent to camp is home to 11 leopards. Every time we drove through this grove our guide found at least one leopard. Each day we saw vehicles from much further West in the park drive more than an hour to get to this section of the park to see leopards.
We were entranced by the amazing beauty of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Spending an afternoon/early evening on the Zambezi River is highly recommended. The late afternoon light on the native flora and fauna is unlike any experience we have ever had.
We have travelled the world and believe the sunset we experienced while on the Zambezi was the most beautiful we have seen."

Lion Camp
"Lion Camp review"
Our wildlife viewing experience while at Lion Camp was spectacular. We enjoyed lion and leopard sightings each day we were at Lion Camp. In fact, at 3 of our 5 dinners at Lion Camp we had lions walk by the patio where we sat. Our tented suite at Lion Camp was amazing in every detail. The wonderful king size bed was amazingly comfortable. The bed included a miraculous overhead air conditioning system that kept us quite comfortable as we slept. The in-suite shower was wonderful and the view from our private patio was fantastic.
All of the services at Lion Camp were exceptional. Our guide at Lion Camp, Simon, had very good skills.
We were happily surprised by the delicious food experience we enjoyed each day at Lion Camp. We enjoyed amazing fare at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The customer service team at Lion Camp was wonderful. The Lion Camp general managers, Vickie and Wayne went above and beyond to make us feel as if we were part of the family.
There is no doubt that when we return to South Luangwa, we will be staying at Lion Camp."

After more than 30 hours of travel time from Los Angeles to Lusaka we were thoroughly exhausted when we arrived in Lusaka at 8:30 am. When we arrived at Latitude 15 later that morning our room was waiting. After a much-needed nap we enjoyed a wonderful afternoon on the poolside patio, sipping wine and enjoying the native birdcall. Our dinner, later that evening at the Latitude 15 restaurant was another wonderful experience.
Although we had made reservations for two nights to ensure our ability to get a room when we arrived in the late morning, we were only charged for a single day when we checked out.
We would highly recommend the Latitude 15 Hotel to anyone travelling to Lusaka and will absolutely return for another magical day on our next safari."
