This was the trip of a lifetime.
Suggestions for improvements:

Chief's Camp
"Great comfort and super game viewing."

"The hotel aspects of this camp were higher that either of the Wilderness camps. Food was more sophisticated. However, I felt the guiding was not as good.
The guide, whilst helpful, perhaps lacked the enthusiasm of the Wilderness guides. We appeared to be re-visiting a highlight time and time again. He was not forthcoming with information, yet when asked questions, one always got a reasonable response. I felt, perhaps, he was just a little lazy! The animal wild life in this camp was the most plentiful of any of the camps visited."

"Lovely position and a great guide"

"We loved the position of this camp. Our guide, Kay, was highly knowledgeable and had a tremendous sense of humour. The bird life here was not as good or as varied as in Chitabe though what we did see reinforced our previous sightings. We liked the water activities, this added another dimension to our previous experiences as did the grazing hippo just outside our tent!
The bedroom/bathroom standards were somewhat higher than in Chitabe.
The variety and standard of the food did not match that of the other camps. Orange juice was not available on one of the morningsI
Much more serious, however, was the absence of temperature controls. Food was always warm, never cold or hot. There was one exception to this - a hot mousse(spinach).
In any event I contracted food poisoning. I believe the culprit to be the duck, I never did find out whether it was meant to be hot or cold!"

We have passed these comments to Wilderness Safaris who are looking into this matter and will update us as soon as they have a response.

"great location and beautifully designed"

"The bedroom/bathroom was comfortable. Food was good, wine was limited to a house wine which was of a very mediocre standard.
Service was poor, apart from that at dinner which was very good. ( different staff?). Breakfast was always late.
Our 'personal valet' simply did not have a clue. The bedroom alert system - a field telephone - was not functioning. We drew this to his attention, asking him to have it seen to. Next day, When we needed it we found it still to be unusable. My husband walked to reception to report it. Nothing happened! Another visit to reception and a complaint to the Manager had it repaired without delay. Our valet said he 'forgot'. This, we feel is a serious omission given that one is asked not to leave the bedroom without a guide at night. In the event of an emergency there were no means of contacting anbody."

Feedback response
Tongabezi's management has since commented that the member of staff in question has received further training to ensure that standards are upheld and to ensure that similar situations do not arise in the future. They are also considering of providing each room with an emergency whistle so that should any similar breakdowns occur in the future, these can be used in the unlikely event of an emergency.
The management comments that the lodge is also working on upgrading its house wine list and is looking at introducing a premium wine list (for which a supplement will be payable locally over and above the inclusive price).

The camp team had a unique spirit setting an atmosphere which could not be matched elsewhere. Food was varied, freshly prepared and maintained at industry-recommended temperatures on the few occasions when our return to camp was delayed.
The main camp was lovely, the bedrooms comfortable. The downside is the slightly 'segrated' bathroom. This leaves a great deal to be desired and nothing whatsoever to the imagination! The management explained that an upgrading is imminent. It cannot be soon enough."
