"Good location, choice of eating opportunities, good breakfast

"There for three nights of which two I was only guest as camp very quiet
Room and public areas were excellent, staff attentive but discrete, didn’t use pool but it didn’t look too inviting
Food very good and variety with some local ingredients

Staff and guides were all brilliant and made an effort to compensate for lack of other guests
Chose Selous because of proximity to water and water disappointed. Boat safari great

"The whole experience and camp was outstanding

Chris and Judie made me most welcome despite the camp being very quiet. We ate together at night around the camp fire and I felt very privileged

The room was fantastic, well located below a baboon nesting tree, cool, very clean and relaxing, only problem was having enough down time to enjoy it fully.

Bladon my guide was great, very knowledgeable about the wildlife, birds, flora and fauna and we saw everything I wanted to see excluding the elusive cheetah and black rhino. I would return here again

Only draw back to drives was that you couldn’t go off track but I understand why. Bladon also gave me a night sky Southern Hemisphere lesson"

"Pole Pole was not as laid back as I expected but that was in part because it was nearly empty.

On my five nights there I was the only guest on two and one of 3-5 on others. The staff were great , Paula and Mleica in particular. The free excursions were good, sunset cruise in a dhow and a trip to Chole Island also by dhow

I also made 5 scuba dives with the adjacent dive centre Mafia Diving out on the reefs . All were excellent on pristine coral with much to see. Transport again by outboard and sail in a dhow

If I hadn’t done the diving I think I would have been disappointed by the Pole Pole beach and large tides which render the beach submerged for much of the day

My hut was great No5, clean, good fan and excellent bathroom and also near the pool and massage areas which I used. I would return but probably choose a busier time for as a solo traveller company and atmosphere in the evening is importent"
