My Sep 2019 trip to Zambia
Zambia between 6 Sep 2019 and 20 Sep 2019
"Very pleasant and unforgettable holiday! From booking until arriving back home. We've had already the opportunity of visiting several countries in Africa, and this travel to Zambia was one of the most fantastic.
The chosen camps, their locations, the accommodations, the food and the activities in which we took part are/were great. Everything has gone very smoothly, as planned or above expectations. We had some very agreeable surprises that we will never forget. But, above all, it was the professionalism, the sympathy and the warmth of the people we've met.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
Booking this travel with Expert Africa was a pleasure.
From the very beginning, the quality of the information obtained, the clarity of the documents, the rigor of the approach and all the support provided by Maruska were simply superb.
Doing better is not easy..."

"Unforgettable! Above the best expectations. Everything was wonderful from the location to the facilities, bul specially the warmth of the people (manager, staff and guide). We've felt great.
After the first night we had a very kind accommodation upgrade in a private tented suite called "the Albida" (with two-bedrooms, as me and my wife Maria traveled together with my sister Célia and my brother-in-law José, and a common area for meals, leisure and rest). We cannot forget all the support and care received from Fossie (manager), Given (room service), Watson (meals), Steve (our guide) and the rest of the staff. And there was a lot of other surprises, including a birthday cake (and party) and a superb lunch on a boat on the Zambezi River!
Many animals visited us at the Albida during the day or the night - elephants, hippos, waterbucks, baboons and lots of birds. A waterbuck got trapped in our external bathroom on the second night but with the help of the night watch guys it eventually joined the herd. Unexpected adventure...
Canoeing activity was great. We loved the tours in Chongwe and Zambezi rivers and the other activities conducted by Steve as well. We saw a lot of animals although their diversity was not very large.
An aspect to improve: the lack of communications, including the internet, although it is great to keep you focused in your job (walk and drive safaris) can be a serious limitation if you are in need to hear from your family very far away...
Putting it all together: it was an unforgettable stay."

"The highest points of our stay in Kakuli Bushcamp:
1- The people - different names but the same dedication, support and warmth. Philemon (manager), Gloria, Jack (meals), Joseph (ranger) and a special mention to John (guide - the walking encyclopedia). All of them are very good on their jobs. John seems to know everything about South Luangwa ecosystems, and each and every species of animals and plants that live there. We've learned a lot from him!
2- The food - it's amazing how so delicious dishes can be cooked in such secluded places. Thank you very much Judith and other kitchen people!
3- The Bushcamp itself - location, accommodations, service, facilities.
4- The activities - the walking safaris are really special and very good opportunities to learn from such experienced guides like John. I wish I could have done more. Impressive density of animals!
An aspect to improve (the same apply to other camps that we visited - Chongwe River Camp and Mchenja Bushcamp): the lack of communications, including the internet, although it is great to keep you focused in your job (walk and drive safaris) can be a serious limitation if you are in need to hear from your family very far away..."

"The highest points of our stay in Mchenja Bushcamp:
1- The people - Emmanuel (manager), Nation (ranger), Jon (our guide) and all the staff. During an amazing dinner, Emmanuel shared is knowledge about Zambian culture with us, told us about the multiple origins of the Zambian people, their languages and dialects (73), their habits and traditions, and about the impact of the Western culture on these traditions.
2- The food - always delicious! On the second night at the camp the Chef cooked for us one of the most traditional dishes of Zambian gastronomy - Nshima. Unforgettable experience.
3- The Bushcamp itself - location, accommodations, service, facilities.
4- The activities and the wildlife - impressive number of leopard and hyena sightings, thanks to Jon.

Sightings report
We had a very friendly and warm welcome and after settling in we took a relaxing aperitif while waiting for dinner. The food was excellent.
Next morning, after the breakfast and punctually at the agreed time, the same driver took us back to the airport where we've met a Skytrails representative."
