Wonderful trip
South Africa and 2 other countries between 12 Sep 2019 and 18 Sep 2019
"This trip immediately followed a 2 week safari to Tanzania.
Overall, I think I would have had a less favorable opinion of my trip to Africa if I hadn't gone to Botswana.
What a perfect ending to our trip. Thank you."

Victoria Falls Hotel
"From another era"

"Victoria Falls Hotel appeals to many people but it wasn't necessarily my style, which I realized when the desk clerk told us about the formal dress code for one of the restaurants!
The location had a very nice view of the bridge, although we were disappointed that the walking path to the bridge was closed. The veranda restaurant is where we generally ate. The desk clerk was marginally helpful but the activities desk clerk was fabulous. Each evening we were inundated with smoke and I'm not sure where it came from but it made it hard for me to breathe even with the A/C on and a towel covering the gap under the door.
Also, we weren't picked up for our safari transfer until 11:20 and we weren't allowed to have a late check out. So it was not the greatest having to hang around the lobby for almost 1 1/2 hours waiting. If I went back to Vic Falls, I'd stay in a small, boutique lodge.
It was very fun to watch the baboons, mongoose and warthogs playing on the grass."

Muchenje Safari Lodge
"Fabulous camp and activities"

"This was my favorite safari camp/lodge of my 3.5 week trip to Africa. There were such an abundance of activities to choose from each day and all were excellent.
Lodge staff and guides were great. There was really nothing I didn't like about it. Each day, we were awakened at 5:30 for either an early morning game drive or early morning bush walk. Then we'd return for breakfast at 8:30 and then went on a full day safari until about 6:45 in the evening. Dinner at 8:30.
The full day safari was so wonderful that we did it for 2 days in a row. It starts with a boat ride and ends with a game drive back to the lodge.
Dining was communal and the food was very good. I require a gluten-free diet and this was no problem at all. I also appreciated the lodge's commitment to reducing waste and avoiding plastic water bottles.
If I went back to this area of Chobe, I would absolutely stay here again."

The staff was very helpful in keeping track of our bags. The restaurant offered tasty, inexpensive food.
My only tip for travelers is to be sure you take a luggage cart because it's further from the international arrivals area than we thought."
