Trip of a lifetime - but hopefully not!
Zambia and 1 other country between 23 Aug 2018 and 9 Sep 2018
"My husband and I, and our two sons (aged 16 and 18) took this vacation just before our 18 year old went to college, so we wanted to spend quality time together. This trip exceeded our expectations.
From the moment we got off the plane in Lusaka, and were met by a driver, to the moment we were dropped back at Victoria Falls airport on our last day, the trip exceeded our expectations.
With the number of connections, hotels, drivers, activities etc that we built in, we were expecting complications and disasters, but every single thing happened smoothly, exactly as we were told it would.
We can't thank Lucy enough!!
Given the overall trip, we would return to Mwaleshi and Tafika. We probably wouldn't return to Davisons Camp or to Victoria Falls.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
Everything went really well. We were very happy.
Thank you so much for everything you did.
We can't recommend your services highly enough!"

Mwaleshi Camp
"Paradise!"
4 nights
Arrived

"Everything about Mwaleshi was wonderful. We had camp to ourselves, and were made very welcome.
This was definitely the highlight of our trip.
If anything, I wish we'd stayed here at the end, because it was hard to compare everything else to Mwaleshi's remoteness, service and comfort."

Tafika
"Tafika review"

"We loved Tafika. The staff were friendly and the accommodation were exceptional. We stayed in the family chalet, right on the river. It is spectacular, and very private. There are two separate showers, and two separate toilets, so our two teen sons were able to share with us, without feeling uncomfortable. Note that you do share twin sinks with one Fawcett.
We felt like we were among family, and were very sad to leave.
The guides were great, and the trip to the village was very enjoyable, with no pressure."

"Big, impersonal, but comfortable hotel"
3 nights
Arrived

"Our rooms were comfortable, and had everything we needed.
We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant, though we did have drinks in the bar, and the staff were friendly.
I visited the hotel spa, and had my acrylic nails redone. I paid US$35.
Staff at the reception and concierge desks were polite, but busy, and when we asked for directions a couple of time, they pointed us in the general direction.
This was a large hotel, and felt very impersonal. If we visit Victoria Falls again, I wouldn't stay here."

Davison's Camp
"Nice camp, but not what we expected"
3 nights
Arrived
5 Sep 2018
"We stayed in the family cabin. It was big, but we found it awkward because the toilets and showers aren't screened, and there is no privacy between the two rooms. We moved curtains from the windows to provide some screening. It would have been fine if our kids were younger, but with two young adults, it really wasn't okay. The tent was also the furthest away from the dining/central area, along a soft sand path.
The camp staff were very friendly and responsive, and the other guests were raving about it, but coming to it from Mwaleshi and Tafiki, our expectations were high, and we were disappointed.
We'd seen a lot of game in Zambia, including lion and leopard, so we were interested in the lesser animals, like the eland, sable, ostrich etc. At Davisons our family of four had to share a vehicle with two or three other people, and our guide was very focused on finding us the BIG game. We spent a lot of time driving, and not a lot of time 'seeing'.
Having come from Zambia, where game drives/walks are led by a guide, a scout AND a tea bearer, it was a shock to just have a guide driving, spotting and guiding. We felt this was detrimental to the experience and probably wouldn't return for this reason."

We had drinks at the bar. the staff were friendly. We had dinner in the restaurant. Had the buffet. Didn't realize there was an a la carte menu.
They had no record of the fact that we had paid through Expert Africa. Insisted on taking our card, and put a hold on the account.
Check out was a pain. One guy on duty, who was dealing with someone else, and showed no urgency, despite a line of four people. We had a flight to catch, so we just left.
Highlight of the hotel - The tub in the bathroom."
