"The Slipway provided a great way to relax after our flight and get into "Africa time" rather than heading straight off to safari. The hotel had a nice pool, the staff were friendly and helpful and we had a lovely meal in the evening overlooking the sea. Our rooms were clean, spacious and were on the same floor, which was great as our boys were in a separate room.

The only slight downside was that the traffic to and from the airport was really bad, meaning it took at least 90 minutes both ways and we had an early start (8am pick-up) the next morning to ensure we got to the airport.
Altogether, very happy though."

"Absolutely fantastic! We had high expectations and hopes for this holiday and somehow they were exceeded. The unfenced nature of the camp meant we were so close to nature, with elephants regularly joining us at mealtime, whilst baboons, impala and giraffe were often seen within the camp.

The drives and boat trips were amazing and we saw everything we could have hoped for - and more - leopard (very lucky), lions (at a giraffe kill - sensational), impala (100s), zebras, wildebeest, elephant, warthog, hippos, eland, buffalo, kudu and a huge number of amazing birds (rollers, heron, bee eaters, kingfishers, fish eagles, batleur eagles, ibis, stork etc. etc.).

We had the same guide (Roger) all week and he made a huge difference to the experience with the knowledge he imparted. We built up a real relationship with him and it was quite emotional when we parted.

Food and service at the camp was great, and Shaun runs a great set-up - well done. We would love to go back one day. Truly the experience of a lifetime."

"A great way to kick back after the safari. Like the safari, this somehow exceeded our expectations. A setting out of paradise with white sands, turquoise sea and palm trees. I spent hours lying in the hammocks, and there was never any space pressure on pool, for loungers or for drinks and food.

The staff were fantastically friendly and helpful, and really could not do enough for us. The food was great and we felt like we put on pounds!! Lovely atmosphere, and so quiet and relaxing.

We had one snorkeling trip to Mnemba island to see the coral which I would recommend. We didn't do anything else despite the temptations of the rest of Zanzibar because it was too easy to stay put! Easily the best beach resort I have ever been to."
