Safari trip of a lifetime
Zambia between 7 Jul 2018 and 17 Jul 2018
"I believe this was as close to a perfect vacation as you can possibly have.
Every detail Freddie put together was amazing from the fishing to the helicopter tour to the hotels and safari camps. The accommodations were just amazing and the game drives were beyond all our expectations. Robin Pope Safaris clearly knows what they are doing and it shows in every detail of their camps and game drives.
The bar has been set so high for us that I don't expect any African vacation to ever surpass this one.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
I honestly can't think of anything that could have been better.
Keep up your amazing work and THANK YOU!"

"This was our first African camp and safari. It was absolutely amazing in almost every way.
John met us at the Mfuwe airport and drove us to the camp. He was our main guide for three days and was fantastic, answering all of our questions and giving us so much information. He worked so hard on every drive and we saw a staggering amount of game in three days. The camp was nicely spread out with amazing chalets that had dual open-air showers and a full view of the Luangwa River. They had a gate and curtain at night to prevent animals from wandering in. Speaking of which, our room had the "hippo highway" that went down to the river and during the night we saw hippo and elephant right outside our room!
Each morning, the staff cooked us a campfire breakfast overlooking the river. We then went out for a morning drive, came back for lunch and rest, and then went out for an afternoon/night drive, finishing with an outdoor dinner. It may sound cliche, but every game drive was so stimulating because you literally saw game every 10 minutes all day long. It was like being in an animal documentary.
Nkwali was one of the best experiences we have ever had anywhere and we especially enjoyed the private dinner they served to our chalet for our 20th wedding anniversary."

Nsefu
"Historic camp with fantastic river view"

"Nsefu was our final camp after spending our first days at the Avani in Livingstone and then the Nkwali camp. When Julius drove us into camp, the first thing we saw was a herd of elephant crossing the river below the camp. The location on the banks of the river gives dramatic views of elephants, hippos, crocodiles and more.
The chalets themselves are rounded thatched huts with a bathroom the steps down in the back. As one of the first camps in the park, the huts are a little close together but provide ample privacy and a nice breeze. Each has a front porch that faces the wide expanse of the river. Like Nkwali, the staff was warm and attended to our needs. The camp has a hide overlooking a pond so you see game up close very nearby. This was also the camp that we took two walks through the area with an armed scout.
Breakfast and dinner we served overlooking the river and were excellent. The highlight dinner was the one we had on the top of an extinct termite mound for our 20th wedding anniversary. Again, the staff was amazing. The game drives were just as incredible especially since Nsefu is deeper in the park with fewer vehicles and wilder game. Watching a pack of wild dogs tear apart an impala, then chase off a leopard and finally battle a pack of hyenas for the carcass is an experience we will always remember.
Nsefu was a nice balance to Nkwali because of how deep in the park it is and the dramatic views of wildlife every single day. It's one of the most unique places we have ever visited and we will always remember it."

The front desk staff was helpful and accommodating even providing glue for a broken shoe for us.The grounds were nicely landscaped and clean. There were even monkeys, zebra and giraffe everywhere. The security staff was diligent and walked us to the clearing where the zebra and giraffe were.
There was a wide variety of food from a buffet with local things like mopani worms and venison to regular side-down fare. The rooms were clean and the shower was nice and hot. The best part was that you could walk to the falls in five minutes and the entrance fee was already included."
