A Treasured and Memorable Safari
Zambia between 19 Sep 2018 and 5 Oct 2018
"We were pleasantly surprised throughout our trip and would definitely recommend this to friends and family. I would enjoy seeing the same area a little earlier in the year, when it was a bit more green as it had been very dry for many months. Accomodations were excellent and locations of the camps were wonderful.
The abundant wildlife was a pleasure to watch and photograph. The jeeps were outfitted well for photography and guides were exceptional. Loved it all!"

Mwamba Bushcamp
"Experience Africa in a Unique Setting"

"What a lovely Bushcamp Mwamba was.
The hosts, Lindsey and Craig, were so very pleasant and helpful and provided such a delightful experience in the wilds of Zambia. The guide, Sandy, showed us some lovely terrain on safari and the wildlife was everywhere. We experience hundreds of Cape Buffalo running to the river for a drink one day.
Many elephants and impala, baboons and vervet monkeys were seen around the camp. The location seemed to be on many of the animals normal route so wildlife were frequently seen. We really enjoyed the hide as a way to view the animals and birds in close proximity without disturbing their behavior.
All of the staff were very accommodating, helpful and so polite. You just felt very welcome from the moment you arrived.
We enjoyed the story about how every year this camp is completely dismantled at the end of the safari season when it begins to rain and then rebuilt from scratch in the dry season. It was very comfortable and showering and sleeping under the stars in the privacy of our chalet was a delightful experience. The food was very good and we had no problems with eating even fresh produce."

Kaingo Camp
"Great view of Luangwa River and Wildlife"
4 nights
Arrived
27 Sep 2018
"On our way to Kaingo Camp, we enjoyed a safari and were greeted by several staff members upon arrival. We were shown to our spacious and very nicely appointed room which had sliding glass doors so the first thing you see in the morning is the river as the sun rises.
Our guide, Yorum, was so devoted to his love of the bush, wildlife, and a true steward of the park in general. He took us to the carmine bee eater hide the first day, which included a short canoe paddle out to the hide. His knowledge of the birds and wildlife we encountered was very helpful as we wanted to know the names of the birds and animals we weren't sure of.
The camp staff was also delightful and always helpful, whether you needed something cold to drink, laundry done, or just wanted to hear what their life here was like. We learned the produce was grown by the camp near Lusaka, so the food was very fresh and the meals were always delicious and healthy and the chef came up with remarkable culinary fare every day.
We enjoyed the evening safaris, which I had never done, and we saw many of the smaller wildlife you don't see during the day, ie. porcupines, elephant shrews, mongoose, badgers, etc.
We had 4 wonderful nights at this camp and enjoyed this experience."

Avani Victoria Falls
"Civilization with a Touch of the Wild"
3 nights
Arrived
1 Oct 2018
"After being in the bush for several days, we found Avani to have more the feel of a resort, but with the zebras, impalas and giraffes wandering the grounds, still enjoyed a bit of the wild.
It was easy to make tour reservations and were able to go to Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side for a better view of the falls. Being the dry season, there was very little flow on the Zambia side. A river tour on a speed boat gave us a unique view of the river and wildlife living along the river. We were able to get close to shore to see various wildlife and birds.
The staff of Avani was very helpful and polite and the dining area staff very helpful with special food choices. I did feel their entree menu was a bit limited and would have liked more choices. The buffet at breakfast and dinner was very comprehensive but its usually too much food and a bit pricey for everyday. Nice walking paths throughout the resort to get some exercise and a large pool to relax by in the afternoon were amenities were enjoyed.
There was a gift shop in the back of the resort that we hadn't heard about until coming upon it on a walk. They had unique gifts and crafts to offer that the shop near the lobby didn't have. They need better signage for this area."

Sightings report
It had been a long flight and when we arrived we were greeted by a nice staff member with a beverage. Once checked in, we found our room spacious and comfortable and enjoyed walking around looking at the art and photos on the walls in the lounge area as well as the halls. Nice poolside atmosphere with comfortable furnishings in which to have a drink before dinner. We enjoyed two meals, dinner and breakfast, and found a nice variety of dishes from which to choose and the food was very tasty and well prepared.
The staff at Latitude are very nice and attentive to travelers needs and comfort."
