"This must surely be the most friendly of camps. There was a welcome dinner (held every six days) on the first night when we met many other guests as well as some of the guides. On the final night, we had a dinner on our own, with wines and served by 'Tom' who was well versed, cultured and friendly. Our guide was 'Albert' who was exceptional."

"Whilst Kanana was pleasant, it did not measure up to Machaba. The staff were good but not nearly as good as Machaba. It just seemed to be trying to be 'up-market' on the cheap. Our guide was 'Owner' who was very good."

"The staff were very well trained - as at Machaba. Only the 'major-domo' was a bit of a pain although not offensively so! We had room 5100, which with 5101 -2-3, had doors that opened directly onto the parkland in front of the river. Often we would wake to see impala or zebra no more than 15 metres away."
