"After staying at Lake Manze camp for 4 nights, our next camp here at Selous Safari was "posh"!! Electricty in the enormous tent, large shower and an up market feel to the whole camp.
Excellent service, the General Manager of the three camps was staying whilst we were there, so everything was very polished. The guides were very good and knowlegable and we had wonderful sightings again, of lion, leopard and very excitingly wild dogs.
The food was fantastic and served beautifully, we missed the long table of everyone together, as at Lake Manze, but this happened out under the full moon on our last nights stay. A super camp."

Mdonya Old River Camp

"After two very different camps in Selous, we went to Ruhaha National Park. This camp is the sister camp to Lake Manze, run along very similiar lines, but with a totally different feel.
The Camp Manager was away, and Alex was standing in, we felt that the camp was "running itself" and as she spoke no Swahali the staff had little guidance. Having said that the tents were great, we were back to no electricity, which was lovely, our guide and driver Kahimba and Nicholas were excellent and again very knowledgable, and very interesting to talk to over bush breakfast and bush lunch, we understood a lot more about ordinary life in Tanzania.
We had amazing sightings of lion, including a "Lion Honeymoon" and leopard, a large herd of buffallo and the wonderful elephants, all great. We were visited each night by a giraffe eating from the bushes three feet from our tent, as it was a full moon it was a wonderful experience.
The food was poor, and sausage casserole was perhaps not the correct meal for bush lunch, sitting in the jeep for six hours in the heat, both of us had upset stomachs after that day.
We enjoyed Mydona, but I'm very glad that it wasn't our first camp, by the time we got to Ruhaha we were acclimatised to camp life."

Kwihala Camp
"Kwihala Camp review"

"Ellie, from Expert Africa insisted we stayed here and made it our last camp, it was FANTASTIC, very remote and a true feeling of being in the bush.
The camp is run very quietly and incredibly efficiently by Steve, who also came out with us each day, as our driver and guide, he is passionate about the bush and it was so nice to just sit watching the various animals for maybe an hour, rather than," yes, lions, watch for five minutes, photos taken, on we go". We learnt to recognise the different tracks and poo and also some individual animals which made the whole experience much more interesting and rewarding, This was certainly the best camp for sightings, knowledge, and, of course, being South African there was good chat and humour between Steve and the guests. We would return here like a shot.
The tents were lovely, and with solar electricity were again a bit upmarket! We loved the bucket shower and the boys kept everything very tidy and clean.
We were visited in the night by jackals and hyenas and on our last night the pride of 15 lions came through camp, we slept through that one!
The food was superb, and top marks to the camps for cooking in very primitive (as we know it) conditions, I asked to visit two of the kitchens, at camps we stayed in and was amazed.
Thank-you to Ellie for arranging such a fabulous Safari, it was all we had hoped for and much much more!"

Brilliant sightings of lion, leopard and elephants, our guide and driver were such fun but also very knowledgable and answered all our questions as if it was the first time they had been asked them. Loved the bush breakfasts and the trips on the lake gave another dimension to bush life.
The early morning walk was fascinating, and we learnt a huge amount. We really enjoyed the visits of Rifiki, the camp elephant, especially to the palms next to our tent, and to the bar area just before lunch, everyone rushing for their cameras! Sarah the assistant manager (Richard was away) was absolutely excellent, always smiling and really ensuring that everyone was happy and enjoying all the facilities to the full.
5*** plus We would go back tomorrow!"
