Our April 2017 trip to Namibia
Namibia between 18 Apr 2017 and 26 Apr 2017
"In this short trip we could only scratch the surface of Namibia.
Travelling long distances on the gravel roads with hardly any other cars to be seen gave a sense of the freedom and vastness of the country. Obviously the dunes in Soussusvlei were a highlight as was the hiking in Bullsport.
Travelling times between places were in general underestimated particularly from Swakkopmund to Soussusvlei which took over 6 hours of driving."

"First impression was of top notch hotel. However room allocated had to be changed to larger sea view room. Very comfortable. The restaurant options provided lots of choice and the micro brewery had great beer. Buffet breakfast was excellent.
We had a really chilled time and visited surrounding areas to get acclimatised to Namibia."

"Tented accomodation was comfortable with great views.
We did the sunrise trip and sunset trip. Both very worthwhile if a bit pricey. We should have been offered a fully inclusive package.
The nature of the location in the desert meant that the food was simple and lacking sparkle but adequate. Our guide and all the staff were enthusiastic and very helpful.
Puncture on hire car was fixed on site and gave no trouble for the rest of our trip."

"Nice spacious rooms. Comfortable stay. The Quiver tree drive and walk was a highlight of our whole trip along with the dunes. Well worth doing although being confronted by a black cobra on the path certainly made for a heart stopping moment!
Communal meals with the family were enjoyable but a little strained for English speakers as the main language was German. Anyone with an equine interest would love it."

The food was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast menus offered a good choice and watching chefs prepare the meals in the open plan kitchen was really interesting.
Everyone was happy to answer questions and provide recommendations on activities and travel in Windhoek."
