"Self drive safari at Mara Intrepids Camp"
3 nights
Arrived

"I hired a 4x4 Toyota Landcruiser on a self drive basis without a guide and navigated using a handheld Garmin satnav with a Tracks4Africa chip for East Africa.
It was amazing and I saw other drivers from South Africa doing the same. After 2 nights at Governors we spent another 3 at Intrepids which is more central in the Mara. This is an electric fenced off camp with lots of families with young kids so not as nice as Governors.
Here we saw more cheetah including the world famous Malaika with her 2 young cubs."

We were a party of 6 including my two teenage daughters and we never felt unsafe. There is also a fabulous workshop at the camp in case of required emergency repairs.
The game viewing in that area is fabulous with the marsh pride of lions made famous by the BBC Big Cats diaries as well as cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and numerous antelopes among others plus it's only a short drive to the famous wildebeest crossing points during the migration.
Our only regret was not seeing a rhino. Richard Trillo made the reservation process very smooth at a competitive rate."
