"Decided on this trip because I wanted to see a solar eclipse for my 60th birthday . I was utterly pleased with all the resorts, safari camps and flights arranged by Expert Africa.
The only thing I would have changed would have been to spend less time at the beach in the beginning and more time snorkeling in Zanzibar at the end. Having said that I don't think that could have been arranged as no one could have changed the timing of the eclipse or my international flights.
This was my first time using Expert Africa and won't be my last. I have been to the African Continent 7 times using other agents at another agency but my new favorite is Ellie with Expert Africa.
Suggestions to help us improve our trips or our service:
nope I was completely satisfied"

Jongomero Camp
"Best 60th birthday"
3 nights
Arrived
30 Aug 2016
"As the elephant herd came right up to the camp dining room wall to wish me a happy birthday how could I have anything but praise for Jongomero?
Our 4 day stay was packed with sightings by our very knowledgable guide Prosper. He gets my vote as best guide of our 14 day safari. The food was excellent and beautifully presented but I would have liked it to have a bit more African tilt.
The tent was spacious and comfortable and you could view game in or across the riverbed just by sitting on our deck. The park around Jongomero had a different vegetation (larger trees, more water) than the other places we stayed so I was happy to see the difference in animal/bird viewing.
Don't worry about the tsese flies. They don't eat much and hurt less than the ones on the Jersey shore."

Mwagusi Safari Camp
"Fun at Mwagusi"
3 nights
Arrived
2 Sep 2016
"We had a superb time at Mwagusi. It was partially because of all the wildlife we saw and partially because of the hospitality of the management and staff of Mwagusi.
This camp had really great communal meals with a more African flare. I was always going back for seconds at lunch.
There was one guest during our visit though that was a chronic complainer. She should have never gone on safari. Her expectations were all wrong so if you read any degrading comments about this wonderful camp disregard them.
We saw 3 different prides of lions and fortunately (for me) missed the actual giraffe kill but saw the hunt and subsequent feast. All in all this camp was one of my favorite of the 6 times I've been to the African continent."

Unguja Lodge
"My now favorite beach resort in the world"
2 nights
Arrived
8 Sep 2016
"I picked this resort because of it's small number of rooms and it's proximity to good snorkeling. I am not a diver but enjoy snorkeling. This was a very good choice.
The food was excellent right out of the ocean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The trip to the neighboring village was not to miss as it was extremely educational. We were warned about the monkey's stealth but didn't heed and therefore lost part of our morning snack.
We could watch the dolphins frolic from the resort's chaises while other vacationers had to come by boats from far away resorts. It was just beautiful and peaceful. I did suggest to the management though that they can the Mozart at breakfast and get some Tanzanian music for dinner....or better yet just listen to the waves."

Staff and management were friendly and professional. Food was excellent. Shoreline was beautiful and the night sky was the best in all of Tanzania. Ocean was a little rough for snorkeling but great for just a dip.
Geography around the beach was interesting at low tide. Wished I had visited the nearby village and taken the guidebook with me on the nature trail."
