My september 2016 Zambia safari

"Amazing! Loved every minute of it! The people of Zambia are incredibly welcoming and hospitable. They are truly very nice people. And it really enhances a trip tremendously!
We loved the landscapes of South Luangwa, absolutely gorgeous! Of course the wildlife was plentiful!
This trip was the stuff that dreams are made of! Absolutely wonderful!"

"We loved the island bushcamp experience. It was very relaxing and it has a very "chilled out" vibe. The chalets/huts are very beautiful and again, the pictures don't do it justice. It was just all breathtaking!
The food was again delicious and even more impressive after you have taken the "kitchen safari". The chef does some amazing things with very limited means! All the drinks were always chilled as well, which is no easy feat without electricity.
The walking safaris were very informative and it was nice to move about a bit after having been driven around for a week.
The staff was also amazing! You could tell that there is a nice camaradry between all the members of staff and everyone is happy to be there and to host you. We felt so welcome and were incredibly well taken care of!
If I could say anything that is maybe of the slightest criticism it would be that they didn't offer us the option of participating in the afternoon activity on our arrival day at bushcamp. In their experience people are too tired from the 3 hour rough drive in the heat of the day to still want to go out and walk. However, we would have loved too nonetheless. Having the private sundowners with our hosts was however no hardship either ;-)

"I will just repeat what I said before:
We absolutely loved Kafunta River lodge! It was the last stop on our safari and also the best. Of course it was also the most expensive of our trip so one must take that into account. However we felt that Kafunta offered amazingly good value for money! I can't imagine what any of the more expensive lodges could offer more.
The pictures on the website don't do it justice, the place is just gorgeous. Especially the suites. The extra cost is limited (I think 50 usd pppn) and the rooms are just fabulous. So I would recommend anyone to upgrade if they are available, it is very much worth it. They are huge and offer wonderful views! They made up the upstairs daybeds for us one night to have a romantic sort of sleep out, so romantic!
The food was divine, the drinks delicious and very cold.
I cannot praise the staff enough! Everyone was incredibly friendly and exceptionally service oriented.
