My Dec 2019 trip
Tanzania between 18 Dec 2019 and 1 Jan 2020
Slightly disappointed by the weather (more long periods of rain than we had expected) and the wildlife were also elusive, but overall it was an excellent trip and we would happily return. Lodges were all excellently run, with high standards, as expected."

Pole Pole
"Pole Pole review"
The manager, Julie, has imbued the hotel and staff with her natural warmth, making this a great environment to stay in.
The Chole tour was excellent.
It did rain for long periods while we were there (December), which was disappointing, but enough sunshine to make it worth the visit."

Siwandu
"Siwandu review"
The area was very green in December, and there had been much rain the previous week. This made hunting for wildlife more of a challenge - but we still saw plenty, including wild dogs. The water trip was excellent, and also lunch relaxing on the pontoon.
A new dam is being built in the Selous - far from the lodge, but the new access road has made the area more accessible. I am worried that the dam will also affect water levels and wildlife over the next few years."

Jongomero Camp
"Jongomero Camp review"
Great location on the Jongo river, which was in full flow after recent rains (late December) - and also several storms while we were in Camp. Amazing bird life, and flocks of butterflies. Other game harder to see in the high grass, but sufficient to keep us satisfied. Some river crossings were inaccessible through high water, which limited the directioins of the game drives."
